Rigidity, probably the most important thing about a protective carry/travel case. Outstanding quality with no obvious compromises. Absolutely a must have to protect your Meta quest 2. Some TVs have built-in Chromecast capability, or you might already own a Chromecast-enabled device attached to your TV, but if not, you’ll need to buy a Chromecast. The Sarlar Fashion Travel Protective Case is one of the best Meta Quest 2 cases because of the sheer amount of accessories it brings to the table. In addition to the anticipated lens protection pad, shoulder strap and velcro cable tie, you also get some colorful controller grips and a complete VR stand, so you can leave your Meta Quest 2 on display should you choose. However, realistically any 2.0 or higher cable from a reliable brand should work fine, with 3.0 and above giving the best results. You may also need to buy a USB C to A adapter (which will also need to be USB 2.0 specification or higher) to plug the cable into your computer, depending on if it has a native USB-C port onboard.
This thing is freaking adorable and classy looking. I love the felt texture, the hidden zipper, and the whole look of it. It gives off kind of a futuristic vibe, while still looking classy enough to not be out of place in high end homes. I also really like the visual design in this iteration, although Upload’s own David Jagneaux thinks it looks like a hairy egg. The outside of the device is covered in a fuzzy felt colored in a mixture of earthy grays. It gives the kit a sort of mythical tablet vibe which I’m pretty fond of. The zip, meanwhile, is embedded under the lid, which gives the top a nice seamless feel. That said the string attached to the zip is a little flimsy and could cause issues if it ever came off. Oculus Quest 2 is one of the hottest VR headsets available on the market right now. Out of the box, it comes with everything you need to get started. If you want the look of a bag, protection of a case, and plenty of room, this ANNAPRO model might be worth the extra cash. Which one is right for you? The Quest 2’s design allows for users to swap out the default fabric strap for a comfier alternative, and there’s a load of official and third-party options to choose from. The first option is by AMVR, pictured above. I’ve got this stand myself and it’s a fantastic if you want something simple and inexpensive that blends in and matches the clean white aesthetic. The two arms that hold the Touch controllers are also optional, so if you’d rather remove them and have the controllers sitting upside down beside the Quest, that’s an option too.
Ironically, despite the fact that Quest 2 is smaller than its predecessor, the official Carrying Case is actually about 5cm longer than the Quest 1’s alternative. The kit stores everything the original did, including your headset, its controllers and space for the charging wire included in the box. However, instead of hiding the wire in a compartment under your controllers, this iteration has a separate space for it at one end of the storage area. Still, it’s the same width (around 21cm) and would still fit into most spaces you were storing your original Quest. This might be the most unconventional accessory on the list, but a VR-ready PC is truly one of the best (and most expensive) Oculus Quest 2 accessories you can buy. The interior is a bit problematic, however, in that it is specifically designed for the official Oculus accessories, and even then just barely. You'll find after having an Oculus for only a short period that you will be buying all sorts of accessories for it. New head straps, face padding, chargers, etc. None of that stuff will fit in this case. The case is just large enough for your headset with its original fabric headstrap, the controllers, and the charging cables. Anything more than that, and you have to start getting really creative. I have managed to get it to fit the Elite headstrap and an additional silicone face cover as well as a couple of extra cables for other accessories, but it's tight.The Meta Quest 2 Carrying Case is the obvious choice for many Quest fans — and there are reasons behind its popularity. At first glance, it has a very smart and sleek design, with a gray felt finish and a capsule-like shape. The single zip also appears hidden under the lid, which gives the top a suspended appearance. There’s a single, soft loop handle on the outside and compartments within for the headset, controllers and cables. This case can fit the Elite Strap with Battery as well for added versatility. However, no accessories are included, which is a bit of a letdown. The lenses are one of the most vulnerable parts of the Quest headset — they can be permanently scratched and direct sunlight can be magnified through them, resulting in burnt screen pixels. If you have a VR-ready PC and want to use Oculus Link with a stable wired connection, you’ll need the right type of cable.
