About this deal

The police exist to keep us safe – or so we are told by mainstream media and popular culture. TV shows exaggerate the amount of serious crime and the nature of what most police officers do all day. Crime control is a small part of policing, and it always has been. The reality is that the police are not here to protect you.

It was for this reason that I implemented a rapid overhaul of the operating model and in April 2023 we created seven new local policing areas, each of which has local responsibility for responding to calls for service and investigating offences. The natural meaning of “take arms against a sea of troubles” etc is to battle some exterior force; to grab weapons to do battle against the sea which is out there, not here, and certainly not inside us. Or, if the sea were metaphorically inside him, and were an interior enemy, he would need to make that clear, which he does not do. The meaning remains, imho, the clear and patent one, rather than a reference to suicide. Firstly, I LOVE the bottle. It is absolutely amazing. The skull-shaped glass is surprisingly easy to handle. I have the biggest possible bottle - 125 ml, however, it looks smaller than I imagined. I compared it with my 'Believe' by B. S. bottle, which is 100 ml and the Believe one looks bigger. 'To be'takes up a little space in my collection which is great

More Resources

The police do not prevent crime. This is one of the best kept secrets of modern life. Experts know it, the police know it, but the public does not know it. Yet the police pretend that they are society’s best defence against crime and continually argue that if they are given more resources, especially personnel, they will be able to protect communities against crime. This is a myth.’ Hovering above the text (or lurking beneath it) is the idea that suicide could be an option, too. Reply I grew up on shows like Adam-12 , which portrayed police as dispassionate enforcers of the law. Hollywood, in the sixties and seventies, was helping the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) manufacture a professional image for itself in the wake of the 1965 Watts riots.

If it is the case that the Met police are making precisely such an assumption, it would help to explain the indisputable bias they have shown in their responses to different kinds of protests. The third thing they say is sometimes phrased as a question, but always meant as a statement: “Why don’t you be a firefighter, instead?” Even with a question mark, you know it’s a statement: Be a firefighter. I support those who make the decision to leave. Some of those I know are dear friends. I have not lost an ounce of respect. I can’t foresee the future. I can only work with the here and now. And for now, I’m here. For whatever time that is, I’ll BE here, invested and focused. I won’t stew, focused on the impossible dream of things just getting better. Wishing upon a star. Whining about what could/should/would be. That is a fool's errand, and it is a nightmare. Policing will never be a just or effective tool for community empowerment, much less racial justice. Communities must directly confront the political, economic and social arrangements that produce the vast gulfs between the races and the growing gaps between the haves and the have-nots. We don’t need empty police reforms – we need a robust democracy that gives people the capacity to demand of their government and themselves real, non-punitive solutions to their problems. When I joined WMP in December 2022 I set some clear priorities as I recognised there needed to be a significant improvement in the force’s performance, the number of offenders brought to justice and the service we provide to local communities. Please note that parcels weighing over 2kg may be sent via courier due to Royal Mail weight restrictions. To Be lasts fine but it is overshadowed by Touch and Only the Brave. Both perform better. I get only about 6 hours from this and Touch I can get 7 and Only the Brave goes about 8 on my skin. Both also are better chemically than To Be. What annoys me with To Be is that Police can put out good fragrances and have with a few To Be flankers, Potion Power and Police Legend(ary Scent.) Panos Karanikolas, a PhD candidate in criminology and a member of the lived experience group of academics leading the project, described the two occasions he was taken by police to mental health inpatient units as traumatic. They argue that racist and brutal cops can be purged from the profession and an unbiased system of law enforcement reestablished in the interest of the whole society. They want the police to be better trained, more accountable, and less brutal and racist — laudable goals, but they leave intact the basic institutional functions of the police, which have never really been about public safety or crime control. Hamlet tells us what the speech is about in lines 2-5, where he explains what he means by “To be or not to be”. He means that there are two options for him: these options are: in lines 2-3, to put up with random unpleasantness from Claudius and others; in lines 4-5, to actually do something, viz. to take up arms, to fight, and possibly, within the context of the plot, to kill Claudius. As a result of killing Claudius, Hamlet might well die himself.

The Engage process provides additional scrutiny and support from the inspectorate and other external organisations in the policing sector to help the police force improve and provide a better service for the public.David Baddiel’s book, “Jews Don’t Count”, provided a disturbing account of the discrepancy between the treatment of anti-Semitic prejudice and discrimination against other minorities. HMICFRS said “significant and sustained improvements” are required, adding that the inspectorate will be closely monitoring the force’s progress with a further report due to be published in early 2024. West Midlands Police has been asked to urgently produce an improvement plan and will meet regularly with our inspectors. We will work closely with the force to monitor its progress against these important and necessary changes.” For use, I find it just casual and work. You will smell OK. It isn't a foul chemical mess but it will be too common to wear on dates. It is not good for clubs or nights because it doesn't project like other Police fragrances like Potion Power can. It was asked a lot when I started 14 years ago. In the station, in public. I asked it of all new applicants and recruits I came across – as a peer, as a field trainer, as a supervisor. I still do.
