This book did both – I feel the storyline was well written and kept me wanting to know what happens next. Tropes or Themes: Mafia, Arranged Marriage, Age Gap (8 Years), Protective MMC, Virgin, He Falls First, Adopted Character, Sexual Content, After Care, Cursing, Verbal & Physical Abuse, Jealousy, Abandonment, Family Drama, Rival Families, Violence, Blood, Guns, Alcohol, Car Accident, Intimate Tattoos, Mute Character, Murder & Death I was very pleased with that outcome regarding her crazy a&& father as well as her sweet but in the dark brother. But something tells me that Sante, her brother, has alot more to show us in later books. 🧐 Mafia romances are usually centered around the mmc. Keir gave Rowan the stage. She was his and the plot’s main focus and she was intriguing enough to keep the interest throughout the book. I struggled a bit with Ro’s inner monologues at the beginning but I learned to like them and in the end, I fully loved them.

Every since reading Silent Vows, book one in the Byrne Brothers Series, I have been intrigued by Bishop. This novella (#1.5) between books one and two tells Bishop's story. Have to say, I was not disappointed. Where Bishop intrigued me before, I fell in love in this story. But in silence, there are secrets. Secrets that Connor is determined to get Noemi to share with him. Even though those secrets could tear down everything she holds dear... their chemistry burns hot and bright and the more she gets to know him, the more she wants to trust him. Watching their connection grow is so beautiful and I loved how he was both ruthless yet patient at the same time. She kept on saying that she’ll make plans to runaway with her brother. Talking about how she won’t let another man control her.Noemi has had to deal with something no daughter should ever have had to. Conner might have to do something in the name of family honor. Their story will grab you on so many levels. If you’re a lover of mafia tales, this will give you that. Maybe you are someone that loves to read a good suspense story with romance slowly building as the storyline progresses. The author even goes one step further and creates secrets that take a while to be revealed. When she finally decided that she wanted to see if she could walk the walk, she decided to write in the style of the “Fever” series by Karen Marie Moning, Jill’s favorite series. Those that have read Karen’s books will see a strong resemblance between their first two novels in the overall concept of a woman going to Ireland and finding the Fae. But after that their stories diverge. The idea was always so intriguing, that was the very first place that her imagination would go when she decided to write.
