About this deal

The light novel series is written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. In June 2020, SunSunSun first received an invitation from Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko for whether the imprint could publish the work. [7] On December 22, 2020, it was announced the short stories published on Shōsetsuka ni Narō will be published by Kadokawa Shoten under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint after being adapted as a series. [6] The title of the series follows the title of one of the two short stories. [6] The first volume was published on February 27, 2021. The author does an excellent job of portraying Alya's inner thoughts and feelings. The reader can sympathize with her struggles and understand her reluctance to open up to others. The plot of "Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian" is engaging and well-crafted. It revolves around Alya, a high school student who moves to a new city with her family. Alya is a shy and introverted girl who struggles to make friends and communicate with her classmates. She spends most of her time reading books and listening to music, which provides her with a refuge from the outside world. EditSynopsis Smart, refined, and strikingly gorgeous, half-Russian half-Japanese Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou is considered the idol of her school. With her long silver hair, mesmerizing blue eyes, and exceptionally fair skin, she has captured the hearts of countless male students while being highly admired by all others. Even so, due to her seemingly unapproachable persona, everyone remains wary around the near-flawless girl. The only reason why it has a lot of fans is because the Weeb communities just find a cute waifu who gives them enough fanservice and allow them to masturbate instead of, you know, going out and finding a real girlfriend. a b c d Cayanan, Joanna (September 24, 2023). Better side characters and more satisfying moments in the manga would unquestionably elevate this to the upper echelon of rom-coms as it possesses every aspect of an incredibly engaging romance story. Either way, it still has a lot of going for itself, but falls a tad bit short from other departments.

But it is a sin when it is doubly unrealistic because characters speak their "embarrassing" thoughts OUT LOUD for no reason. You have a tsundere unable to say her feeling and acts over the top; you have a bratty little sister; Art is cool though, and the character designs are alright, some interactions are fun and there seems to be some mystery about the MC's past (I can not promise that it will end up being satisfying, in fact, I, personally, will most likely be disappointed), so if you can tolerate, or outright not mind the issues I have with the manga, it might be worth a try. The previously announced lead cast members are Sumire Uesakaas the titular Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou and Kouhei Amasaki as Masachika Kuze. Ueska and Amasaki previously voiced these characters for the light novels’ promotional videos.

My main issue with this manga is that... not a single bilingual person ever does this... As someone that has learned 5 different languages, is fluent in two of them, with varying levels in the other three, I have never caught myself switching to one language out of embarrassment or being bashful, or even accidentally. There are many book series about people meeting from different cultures, and for good reason. People who grow up in different environments behave differently and have differing ideas of what's normal. Even in light novels, this idea is explored when people move from the countryside to the city, or even between schools. So you would think this series, with a main character who theoretically spent half her life abroad in Russia, would touch on those aspects as well. Alya should have different cultural attitudes and behaviors than a typical Japanese girl. Otherwise what's the point of her being Russian? An anime television series adaptation was announced on March 17, 2023. [4] It will be produced by Doga Kobo and written and directed by Ryota Itoh, with character designs handled by Yūhei Murota, who will also serve as chief animation director. Ryō Kobayashi will serve as the producer. [5] The series is set to premiere in April 2024. [27] Other [ edit ]

There’s no question that this is a wholesome/satisfying read based on the concept itself, but I wished there was something more that would grab any reader’s full-blown attention.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian was originally a short story that was published on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020. A Kodansha-published manga adaptation by Saho Tenamachi began in October 2022. This manga would have been the same if instead of speaking in Russian, the heroine had a habit of saying what she thought out loud, or the MC overhearing the heroine talking about him, or the MC being able to read minds. I JUST DON'T GET WHY IT HAD TO BE RUSSIAN LMAO. Just give me the same things said in Russian but in thought bubbles instead and respect my intelligence and media literacy...
