About this deal

To freeze the cookie dough, form the cookie dough into balls and place on a baking sheet or tray. Place in the freeze for 30 minutes or until the balls are solid. Transfer the cookie dough balls to a freezer container or bag and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to bake, pull the dough balls out of the freezer and add a few extra minutes to the baking time. You don’t have to defrost the cookie dough before baking. Instead of chocolate chips try white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or other baking chips that you like. Abigail and her family have just finished eating dinner. Her father comments that it's nice to see Abigail and Cree being "friendly" again. They seem to be getting along, but they're pointing ray guns at each other underneath the table. Snip the corner off, then pipe in a random squiggly pattern over one of the skewers. Repeat with 3 more skewers or until all the mixture has been used up. Scoop the cookie dough : I like to make these big so two tablespoons of dough per cookie. Use a cookie scoop for even distribution (here’s mine).

Sprinkles: The sprinkles are the stars of the bottom layer! I used this Monster Mashup mix from SprinklePop, which has adorable royal icing mummies, ghosts, eyeballs, and pumpkins scattered throughout. Frosting: Of course, I used my favorite Easiest Swiss Meringue frosting for this cute monster cake! I took my color cues from the sprinkle mix and filled the cake with purple, orange, and green frosting. The outside of the bottom tier was frosted green, then while the frosting was still soft, the sprinkle mix was pressed into the top and sides until it was completely covered. 🥄 Equipment Sugar: Brown and granulated. Brown can be dark or light. Granulated should be fine or it won’t mix as well into the dough. Toast the oats: this isn’t a super necessary step but I like doing it because it crisps up the oats and enhances the flavor. Set the oats in a frying pan over medium low heat and cook, stirring as it heats, until fragrant. Set aside to cool. These chocolate monster pops might look a little complicated but they are actually super easy to make - perfect for a fun Halloween cooking project for kids!Basic cake tools— assembling and decorating will be MUCH easier if you have a cake turntable and offset spatula.

Their father suggests they have hot chocolate and marshmallows and Abby goes to get them, narrowly avoiding a blast from Cree's ray gun which their parents are oblivious to. She enters the garage and boards a space shuttle straight to mars to harvest “Fresh” mars-mallows. Upon her return, she slips in puddle of bitter-tasting chocolate and finds her house coated in it while her family has become petrified chocolate statues. On the wall, write in chocolate, are the words “I haff returned.” In a small bowl, add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and rolled oats. Briefly mix together. Then add to butter mixture and beat until a delicious, soft chocolate cookie dough forms. Egg : Just one large. I haven’t tested these with a flax egg substitute but if I do I’ll update the recipe here! After pushing Cree away, Abigail runs to her right which is the wrong direction because the living room was just in front of her.The temperature dials on some ovens can be inaccurate and the actual temperature in the oven can be 10-20 degrees centigrade different. Next time, try setting the temperature lower and if you find that your oven is particularly problematic, you could invest in an oven thermometer which will give you an idea of the true temperature it's running at. Use a cookie scoop to drop the dough mixture on the prepared baking sheet. Space the cookie dough two inches apart. This recipe uses wheat-based flour which contains gluten, as well as porridge oats which can sometimes have traces of gluten, so as it is, this recipe is not gluten-free. Add the sugars : both the brown sugar and the granulated. Now is a good time to add the salt and vanilla as well. Whisk vigorously, we want to aerate the dough a bit and get the sugars to start dissolving (but we aren’t quite creaming it). Butter: Unsalted, especially important here because we’re adding peanut butter which is already salted! No need to soften it but be careful when you melt it that you don’t lose any.

Frosting troubleshooting: I also recommend that people who have “hot hands” work with smaller piping bags. Only put a cup or two of frosting in your bag at a time. This way, if your hands do cause the frosting to get too warm and soft, you can easily swap the bag out with another small one. Bags of warm frosting can be briefly refrigerated to return them to a better piping texture.

Arrange on lined baking trays at least 5cm (2 inches) apart to allow space for them to spread during baking. lwptoc min=”2″ depth=”2″ skipHeadingLevel=”h3,h4,h5,h6″ skipHeadingText=”✨ JOIN THE PARTY! ✨|FREE HALLOWEEN DESSERTS E-BOOK!”] Butter : Unsalted or salted – if you are using salted I might omit the salt in the dough because coupled with the peanut butter you’re risking it being overly salty. You can add just a pinch if you know you like a well salted cookie.

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy and combined. Then add the egg and the peanut butter and beat briefly just until smooth. My personal favorites: chopped up dark chocolate peanut butter cups (trader joes sells the ones you see in the photos, but Reeses also makes a dark chocolate thin that would work well here) and mini m&ms. This is the second time we see a villain melt into liquid. The first time was in " Operation: I.-S.C.R.E.A.M." when the Ice Cream Monster melted when Kuki turned on the heater. Add M&M’s and chocolate chips. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. After Abigail slips in the chocolate, she never gets up but is still somehow standing at the same height as she was sitting relative to the garage door in the next shot. Make the toppings : I’ll add some more oats (you won’t need to toast these) and some mini m&ms to one bowl and some chopped peanut butter cups to another.
