About this deal

Ethylhexyl palmitate: a mixture of a fatty alcohol and palmitic acid that functions as an emollient (softens and soothes the skin) and texture enhancer Although the butter looks quite solid, it has a very buttery texture that easily melts down once applied. This means it’s not difficult to spread it across your face, which is important if you’re wearing makeup. It has a faint camomile scent, which is soothing, calming and refreshing. I love this because it makes using the cleansing butter that bit more luxurious. After using this product for three days, I’d noticed my skin was looking generally brighter and refreshed. It also felt a lot softer and silky, which is especially rare during the inconsistent weather at the moment. It also removes makeup effortlessly. I always find mascara to be the most stubborn makeup to remove but the Camomile Cleansing Butter makes it hassle-free, while still being kind and gentle to your skin.

The same philosophy applies to cleansing oils but the choice of formula comes down to your preferences. Most cleansing balms emulsify into an oil as you massage them into your skin and add water. Cleansing balms are "a great first step for removing makeup [and sunscreen] before using a traditional cleanser to clean the pores out effectively," explains board-certified dermatologist Arash Akhavan, MD, of the Dermatology and Laser Group in New York City. "Sometimes, for extremely dry skin such as with people suffering from eczema, a balm cleanser used alone may help prevent excessive drying for the patient." It has a really nice smell and my skin just feels so refreshed, soft and calm after using it. If perfumed products trigger issues for your skin type, this might not be the cleanser for you.The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter promises to effortlessly melt away all traces of makeup and impurities to help your pores stay unclogged. It claims to be suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin, and leave your skin feeling cleansed, refreshed and nourished. Once rinsed - and I gently buffed away any residue with a flannel - my skin was left looking bright and feeling soft, clean and hydrated. If you've got oily skin this might not be the best choice for you, but with my skin on the dry side it worked wonders. I was also impressed that you can leave it on for 10 minutes to use as a deep cleansing mask. This purifying cleanser also helps to stop those hidden nasties from clogging up your pores, and used on the reg will keep skin feeling refreshed and nourished. No, it doesn’t look like much, and no, it doesn’t smell like a spa and no it absolutely does not promise to totally fix your every skin concern overnight. However, it does remove every last trace of dirt and makeup from your face with zero fuss. It also smells somewhat comforting and promises to totally change the way you approach your evening skincare routine due to how remarkably easy and fuss-free it is to use. My skin is honestly in better condition when I wear makeup and use this as part of my daily routine.

The product is soft and nourishing, and a little goes a long way. I bought my current bottle three months ago, and although I use it every morning and night, I've still got nearly half of the bottle left. The cleanser doesn't have much of a smell which I like, as products with an overpowering smell make me think they're not made from natural ingredients. Honestly, it would’ve been nice to see camomile feature in the top 5 ingredients of the cleansing butter’s INCI list. But due to pretty much all of the top 5 ingredients having emollient properties, this product seems like it will be very friendly to the skin. How to use this product The 200ml bottle has a pump dispenser, making it easy to get the right amount of product each time leading to no waste. Within a week of using the cleanser (alongside other La Roche-Posay products), I noticed a huge difference in my skin. I hope La Roche-Posay never discontinues the cleanser or the other Effacular H products, as they’re the best skincare products I’ve ever used. Application-wise, Mona Gohara, MD, an associate clinical professor of dermatology at the Yale School of Medicine, previously recommended massaging cleansing balms "three times around the face with gentle pressure."PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate: has emollient, cleansing and skin-softening properties. It also helps oily ingredients rinse from the skin without leaving a greasy residue It comes in a medium-sized tin, which is made from aluminium so it’s fully recyclable (or reusable if you’re in need of a handy tin).
