About this deal

Hi everyone and sorry for the delay. I ended up finding two screws that allow the orange part of the unit to be opened, exposing the bottle. Unfortunately that bottle size doesn't seem to work with the replacements offered here; they're a different size. There is a little bit of liquid movement in the bottle itself but I'm not sure if the rest has solidified more than it should, 5 years past expiration.

Tyre inflation kits combine a bottle of puncture-sealing adhesive gel with a compressor. You plug the bottle of mousse into the compressor which in turn plugs into the cigarette lighter or 12-volt outlet. This then pumps air and the gel into the tyre through the valve. As the air is pumped in it forces the gel to the outside of the tyre where it fills the hole that’s letting the air out. The whole process should take about 10 minutes. At least that’s the theory. Do mobility kits work? You may also find that some garages are reluctant to fix tyres where puncture sealant has been used. This is because it can be messy stuff to deal with. However, there’s no technical reason why a tyre shouldn’t be repaired (assuming it’s legal to do so) if gel like this has been used. Should you take the tyre to be repaired, just make sure you mention to the technician that a sealant has been pumped in. Continental’s product range for the aftermarket also includes a 600-ml squeeze bottle of ContiTireSealant. This is for kits where the sealant is squeezed manually into the tyre instead of being pumped by a compressor. Since the bottle does not have to fit a compressor, it can replace any kind of sealant squeeze bottle, regardless of the manufacturer. Here too, a glance into the luggage compartment may well lead to extra sales: each year, some three million kits with a squeeze bottle of sealant are used by European car manufacturers. The reason car makers include these mobility kits is they save weight and don’t take up valuable space. In modern cars, particularly electric vehicles, space is at a premium. And the area where the spare wheel once lived is often taken up with the battery or electronics. You’ll still need your alloy wheel key We’re supporting Highways England’s ‘Go Left’ campaign. If you break down on the motorway, remember to go left. No, the Acura tire sealant and inflator kit sealant will not affect the TPMS sensors or system in the vehicle (other sealants may, however). If the tire is repaired after using the supplied sealant, the sealant should be flushed from the TPMS sensor using cool water." We’re called out to an awful lot of punctures so how effective are these mobility kits? What is a mobility kit?

As I’ve already mentioned, the sealant won’t repair every puncture and it’s quite expensive. In addition, it’s not a permanent fix. It’s designed to get you home so you’ll need a new tyre as soon as possible. As such, I'm going to buy a kit like this just in case. https://www.astonmartinbits.com/models/1-DB7/parts... However, our new Acura was shipped with the Mobility kit only Acura replaced their goo with Acura Sealant, and it says this on the label: Having the Continental Conti Mobility Kit on board will mean that you will no longer require a spare wheel and tyre, so saving you up to 18kg weight and saving you much needed boot space. The Dimensions for the Continental Conti-Mobility Kit are: 180 x 249 x 95 mm, and only 2.3kg in weight.
