Having found suitable premises on Green Lane, her father then rented it for a while before eventually buying the building. Derby Collectables is based in Derby and was established in 2007. We have grown from a small stall in a local antiques centre to a successful, established online retailer. The sculpture has also captured the attention of Facebook users across the city. Inspired by the rich ceramics imported from Japan in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century, Derby porcelain has been famous worldwide for the manufacture of their rich Imari wares since the late 18th Century. The then 16 or 17-year-old built the huge knight as part of a college project.
