About this deal

Yet, my daughter still managed to finish three missions. After all, eventually you forget about the game and that’s the time to pounce – and it’s that timing that makes this game so much fun.

My fiancé and I are getting married in late April and plan to host a game of Don't Get Got during our reception. It seems like a great way of encouraging people to interact, starting up some odd conversations and giving us an excuse to hand out a couple prizes at the end of the night. The game allows you to call someone out, if you suspect them of trying to complete one of their missions. If you’re correct, they have to be honest and show you that mission and it’s considered a failure and cannot be attempted again.Shut Up and Sit Down have outdone themselves with the variety of the cards on offer here. Without giving too much away, I can simply say that you should expect tasks involving everything from hand-holding to the Transformers. Given the varied nature of the missions, it’s easy to forget about the game, and this is where Don’t Get Got! shines. When everyone goes about their day and lets down their guard you have the perfect opportunity to strike. Don’t Get Got! is at its best over longer periods of time. This does not in any way mean it’s not spectacular at parties, but the longer you play the more intricate your plans can be. Having played over bank holiday I was impressed at how creative and conniving my friends could be. Mission Completed The classic moment was first thing in the morning when my daughter seemed to have just woken up, but managed to get my wife and complete her third mission and win the game. We didn’t expect her to be playing so early, but she was spot on and exploited the moment. The winner, as stipulated in the rulebook, so the first person to complete three tasks, however on each occasion I have played this, we have just let the game run as you’ll find some people will find it very easy to do three in no time at all! It’s a very simple premise but is it one that lets this game flourish? My Thoughts Overall, this edition of Don’t Get Got! is an outright winner. The missions are superb and everyone I have played with loved it. I have no doubt that this will be a bank holiday staple, and I frankly can’t wait to play over Christmas and New Year. I was worried at first if people would really enjoy this, however, everyone was really throwing themselves into it. The tasks are just the right level of challenging and with almost no setup time this is perfect for almost all gatherings. Don’t Get Got! can be played while pretty much anything else is going on and works best when people are doing other stuff. From an office party to a weekend away, there isn’t really any setting where it doesn’t work.

Guess what?” I asked – but there was no reply. The other player just looked at me – suspiciously. “Guess what?” I asked, this time with more feeling. Yet, there was still no reply. The other player tilted their head and squinted at me. “Guess what?” I tried for the third time. The other player started to open their mouth, but then thought better of it. It was going to be harder than I thought. The other player clearly knew what to do so they Don’t Get Got by Big Potato Games. Trying to get someone to help you with something, which was a genuine request and not an attempt to complete a mission, was virtually impossible. Nobody trusted anyone else. It was a strange feeling. I’ll be honest, I was a little apprehensive at first. Feeling that this was a little bit too out there and I was worried that people may not be willing to get involved. Or may lose interest throughout the game duration. I think the fact that this runs alongside whatever you plan to do for the event or party means that this loss of interest is completely negated. People will still have it on their minds and will still be involved. However, won’t be tied to just playing the game. This also enables many a funny moment to occur when people are caught out doing something completely unrelated to the task! PLAY ANYTIME, ANYWHERE:This isn’t a sit-down-at-a-table sort of game, you play it alongside whatever else you’re doing We've already sorted through the base game and pulled out all the challenges that would be family-friendly and appropriate for a wedding. Now we're trying to brainstorm some more that we could print and add in.I know that many of you probably wouldn’t classify Don’t Get Got as a board game. It’s technically not even a tabletop game, because it doesn’t require a table or other surface to play. Yet, it’s listed on Board Game Geek, so I would argue it qualifies as a board game – and even if it wasn’t listed, I would still review it on my blog. These missions cover a wide range of things, from the relatively benign to the rather more ludicrous. The basic mission that everyone gets is to ask a player “Guess what?” and if they answer with “What?”, you’re successful. Other missions require you to be more clever, but I don’t really want to spoil any of them for you. Suffice it to say that the game comes with dozens upon dozens of mission cards, so you can easily play the game with dozens of people all at the same time and you could play it several times and still not run out of missions. The options are vast. The idea behind Don’t Get Got! is a simple one. Everyone is given six random and unique tasks and a plastic wallet to keep them safe (it even works if it gets lost in a bin, trust me!). This edition comes with more wallets than the original, meaning ten players can now join in on the fun. To help make the game as fun as possible these can be swapped at the start if any are genuinely impossible to achieve.
