About this deal

I said before that the character of Hoon is over the top. He exemplifies the stereotypes taken to an extreme. But in this story we see even more of his redeeming characteristics. We see the intelligence that led Hoon to rise to the rank of Detective Chief Inspector. We also see that he is willing to sacrifice for others. And even though he has a past filled with mistakes, he will do what is right. This story has no preface or afterward by Kirk, but Kirk in the afterword of the first Hoon novel informed us that: This book was a lot of fun, we got a bit more of Bob’s sister Berta who is rude and aggressive but great with kids (weirdly enough) and of course we got all the Die Hard action of Hoon swinging around killing people and cursing and generally making a mess!

I knew the book was coming out just before Christmas and Die Hard has always been one of my favourite movies of all time, and I thought ‘A Scottish Die Hard with a swearie, foul-mouthed psychotic Scotsman as Bruce Willis? That could be a lot of fun!’." Barry Hutchison who writes as JD Kirk. Hoon owes him one and promises to help him find his daughter. From the mean streets of London to the Scottish highlands, Hoon goes on a relentless hunt as he encounters old enemies and makes new friends.

He is a former police officer and former soldier and is currently a man on the edge. He divided his time between a whisky bottle and a dead-end job and is shunned by colleagues. If you’ve ever thought that Die Hard would’ve been improved by making Bruce Willis’s character a psychotic, foul-mouthed Scotsman in his mid fifties, then this is the book for you!! Outnumbered, outgunned, and on unfamiliar territory, Hoon’s only chance of survival lies several hundred miles north, in a place he knows better than anyone else on Earth.

He is impressed by Hoon’s pig-headedness and stubbornness and is also very interested in bringing the shadowy and evil cabal to justice. It is the end of his series. But I think it would be a better man than me who would keep Bob Hoon down. So I would say it is probably not the last of him people will see! He would decide to become an author at age nine when he finished working on a Roald Dahl project in class. It was this project that showed him that writing was something that he could do professionally. With so much potential for bloodshed, the police gathering outside the center can only wait, watch, and try to negotiate with the terrorists within. Over the course of the series, we get to understand Hoon better as despite being a larger-than-life foul-mouthed, a hard-nut, action man, beneath all he is a loyal, caring, and true friend.I said before that the character of Hoon is over the top. He exemplifies the stereotypes taken to an extreme. But in this story we see even more of his redeeming characteristics. We find out a fair bit more about his past. This story has no preface or afterward by Kirk, but Kirk in the afterword of the first Hoon novel informed us that:

The “Robert Hoon Thrillers” are an exciting set of novels that are all about the adventures of Bob Hoon, the Detective Superintendent first introduced in the DCI Logan Thriller sereis.

Coming soon

The girl had been taken by a group that goes by the name “The Loop.” They are a heartless cabal that usually kidnaps girls and makes them addicts before forcing them into prostitution. JD Kirk’s third novel of the “Robert Hoon Thrillers” series is “Westward.” The lead protagonist Robert Hoon may have crossed the wrong people this time around and this may just be the end of him. When I first introduced the then Detective Superintendent Bob Hoon in my DCI Logan crime fiction series, he was so foul-mouthed and unpleasant as to feel almost irredeemable. A larger than life bully with a penchant for bad language, Hoon was a deliberately over the top caricature—a barely human monster who existed largely to make the lives of the other characters that bit more difficult. So for those who may not know, you self-publish your crime fiction through Zertex Media, and to massive success. What was it that took you down that path of publishing, and what kind of benefits do you think it grants you as the author?

Over the years, Hoon has made a ton of enemies but he is more interested in taking on “The Loop” and burning it to the ground. There are many people that would love to see his head on a spike but he was never one to ever run from a fight. Soon enough, he realized just how hard it was to break into the space and decided to opt for much smaller low-budget screenplays.

He is now one of the most popular fiction authors in the world with millions of copies of his novels sold. Over this time, he has grown a huge legion of fans from across the globe delighted with his Highlander series of novels. He is a larger-than-life unpleasant and foul-mouthed bully who seems like something of a caricature. Nonetheless, he is a man that does get the job done which results in a love-hate relationship with his superiors. This is the third book in the Robert Hoon Thrillers and as always be prepared for excess and lewd forms of swearing!! 🤬🤣
