About this deal

BEMBA, the British Enduro Mountain Bike Association, has been shaping the Enduro scene since its formation in 2015. A strong act of collaboration between almost every enduro organiser in the country on a standard rule book and avoiding calendar clashes so that enduro racers can have more fun. It was re-released for the Wii's Virtual Console in North America on December 15, 2008 [25] and in Europe on January 9, 2009. The World Enduro Championship and several other championships currently categorize enduro motorcycles into three classes; Enduro 1 (100–125 cc two-stroke or 175–250 cc four-stroke), Enduro 2 (175–250 cc two-stroke or 290–450 cc four-stroke) and Enduro 3 (290–500 cc two-stroke or 475–650 cc four-stroke). Rallies, on the other hand, are run on point to point courses where the competitor with the fastest time between the two points being declared the winner. Such courses may be shorter than the total length of the race, in which case the course is repeated several times, with each repetition being referred to as a lap. Such courses may also be very long such that competitors never cover the same ground twice.

Modern enduro events are very different. Enduro races are made up of multiple downhill stages, which are timed to generate the event’s result, while the uphills are ‘liaisons’. New venues and new organisers feature among some stone cold classics for the 2022 BEMBA British National Enduro Series. More recently, we’ve seen French riders such as Isabeau Courdurier and Morgane Charre battle it out with Brits, Bex Baraona and Harriet Harnden, in the women’s field.

Instead of just forgetting about the conversion, a PCW show (Zzap issue 32) had reports from Electric Dreams about working on a new revamped version of the game. EnduroGP World Champion Steve Holcombe, plus Sherco Factory Racing’s Hamish Macdonald, both made their maiden assaults on the epic race and despite the race being like no other enduro, the GP boys (and girls, see below)made their marks ahead of the local Swedish specialists. We’re seeing development going in two directions right now. Of course, integration is popular this coming year, which satisfies riders aesthetically, but, on the other side, performance will pull things in a different direction. I don’t think we’re done deciding what the e-MTB archetype should look like. With most of the 2020 season cancelled, we simply organised our own race – including EWS race plates. We received actual team race bikes for this test. Tuned and pimped to the max!

For me the biggest resistance has been due to the incompatibility of e-MTB technology with all current race formats. It is easy to criticise these bikes as being “soft” or “for cheats” if they’re being ridden on circuits designed for mountain bikes. As soon as a circuit or special stages are adapted to the potential of e-MTBs then they are no longer ‘the soft option’. A historic 40th and final running of the biggest enduro on planet earth (for now...), the Gotland Grand National, did not disappoint. Khanna et al. (2015) reviewed the literature on sports injuries in enduro riders, finding: "The extremities are the most injured parts in enduro. However, 98% of these injuries are mild to moderate". With only four studies on off-road motorcycle injuries, they concluded: “there is paucity of published data on enduro injuries. In depth understanding of the physiological aspect of enduro riders with close monitoring of injuries is needed to promote safety measures in enduro and to reduce risk factors of injury which in turn can help to make enduro a safe alternative to the other dangerous motorcycling sports.” [6] See also [ edit ]The popularity of enduro varies widely by continent, country, region, and even by event type. Some popular events are loosely categorized as enduros even though they fall into a category of off-road racing that is known as rally racing or rally raid. Of course, it does have microtransactions, but you can play most of the game without having to spend anything.
