Speaking of crude, we tee up Eminem’s Killshot and his biting delivery sounds as impassioned as we’ve heard it out of two earcups. The RS1x is so clear and direct it feels as through he’s telling us off, and yet there’s enough detail and dynamic insight, and then some, to prevent his expression ever sounding unduly shouty. I chose songs that had key memorable components in them, had some semblance of structure, brought out bass lines, and included audio samples. The most noticeable take away I had while listening to all four of these songs was that all the performances were centered directly in front of my head. To put it in simpler terms, the main components during each part of each song were at the forefront of the performance while listening with the Hemp Headphones.Even as long-term Grado users, it takes us a while to get used to them due to their thinness and overall shape, but it’s worth persisting. A few days of acclimatisation makes us more kindly disposed towards them, particularly as the new earpads cause a subtle shift to the balance of the SR325x’s sound, making them a less demanding listen. Patricia Barber is an incredibly talented Jazz player and performer. Jazz is littered with so much going on, that it can feel overwhelming. This song is no exception. Even amid Jazz’s movement, there is a structure in Barber’s song “Company” and it's fantastic. The Hemp ’s kept her vocal performance directly at the front of my head. The same can also be said for the individual trumpet and drum solos in the song. What I found most amusing, was that with a song with so much detail, I didn’t find myself distracted with the details like I would with an analytical and forward type of headphone. These Grados once again prove that evolution is arguably a more reliable way of making things better than a headline-grabbing design revolution. The best just got that bit better. Muistaakseni RS2E on varsin tyypillinen Grado: kirkas ja ohut bassontoistoltaan. Ei niin kovin kauan sitten omistin myös RS1(vintage) ja SR325i mallit, eikä niissäkään ollut samaa musikaalisuutta kuin Hempissä.
