About this deal

the trio offering three different perspectives on the creation of the feature, working through challenges both behind and in front of the camera. It’s become something of a cliché in and of itself to say this, but John Carpenter’s original Halloween really did invent all of the clichés we’ve since come to associate with nearly all modern horror films. Before 1978, we simply didn’t have the typical tropes of the genre such as the virginal heroine, the parade of doomed, promiscuous teens, or the unstoppable, faceless monster lurking around virtually every corner. It’s not that Halloween reinvented the wheel – it invented the wheel to start with. As such, the film does, interestingly, tend to play far campier – and slower – to a more modern crowd than perhaps it once did, relishing (or perhaps, one could argue, languishing) in all of the same filmmaking styles and character stereotypes that the film itself created. For my part, Halloween is more of a staple of the season now than it is a truly frightening experience. I’m far too familiar with every nuance and jarring bit of musical score to actually be scared by the film these days. And yet, I still feel that I know all of these characters. I still get caught up in what’s going on, even if I know exactly how it’s all going to turn out. And somehow I return to it each and every October 31 st. I’m not sure why that is, but it certainly has to count for something.

pieced together from two composers. Kane reveals his part as a Donald Pleasance sound-alike, and a shortened post-production period is inspected, A Cursed 'Curse'" (9:50, HD) is an interview with associate producer Malek Akkad and producer Paul Freeman, with the

Still, I'm in for the limited edition, IF, every cut included for the movies themselves are actually in HD, befitting the BD format. I'm so tired of producers cheaply slapping a cut of the movie in SD on the disc and calling it an extra, yet promoting it like it's more valuable than the original film itself. It's understandable when behind the scenes extras and such aren't HD, but releasing film-based movies in SD on an HD format is just unreasonably, inexcusably cheap and abusive of their fanbase's trust. I'd assume Zombies unrated cuts are HD, since that's how they were originally released by Sony; I have less faith in the producers cut of 666 being HD though, especially after Shout skimped on the television cut of 2 with their original release - which I can only assume they likely aren't bothering to make amends here either. humanized in a way that he has perhaps never been humanized before. The audience never sees him directly, but Green, from the outset, reveals Surprising news indeed! Though, I wouldn't call this a complete set, especially not, if one or two of the highlighted cuts aren't even in BD quality. I'm rather confused why they're including the original Halloween BD with the 35th Ann edition, as I don't believe it offers anything that the 35th Ann edition doesn't improve on - seems like just a misleading way to get rid of surplus, as I doubt anybody wants the original release now that the 35th Ann edition has taken its place. Would rather see the TV cut of the first film included instead. I also imagine some people will be disappointed they didn't get Universal involved so they could include Terror in the Aisles. When it comes to the icons of modern horror — Leatherface, Michael, Jason and Freddy — genre fans tend to favor one over the rest. The unstoppable monster of lustful, misbehaving teens has made some significant impressions in his life, something that has captured their imagination since childhood and converted thm into devoted followers of the character. Personally, and although I love each franchise in their own right and for different reasons, I'm a loyal disciple of Michael Myers' reign of terror. I've always gravitated more towards the 'Halloween' series above the rest, ever since I first experienced The Shape's creepily imposing figure standing motionless on someone's yard. Or, his equally eerie march towards his next victim, a calm and patient stride that seemed self-assured and unworried his intended prey would escape. Or better still, the way he coolly skulks from behind the shadows like it were part of him. Still Gallery –89 images ranging from promo shots, behind the scenes, poloroids, effects dummies, posters and more.

The Sound of Fear (1080p, 3:19): Using Carpenter's original score as the foundation for this film's new music.

Deleted and Alternate Scenes (7:24, SD) are provided, adding more footage not seen in the two cuts of the feature.

The Legacy of Halloween (1080p, 4:25): Jamie Lee Curtis, John Carpenter, David Gordon Green, and Jason Blum sit down for a Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers receives one of the biggest upgrades of the set, with the eagerly awaited first official release of the Producer’s Cut. I’ll go into much more detail on this one in an individual review. with the feature speeding to a release, enduring many changes along the way. The success of "H20" is recalled, but production participants also offer spoken for four decades. Michael Myers is flesh and blood that has grown outwardly old but the man inside remains obsessed with finishing what he Michael kills two characters in a bathroom partway through the film. Ultimately, though, Halloween struggles to do anything meaningful withCarl Buechler and Brad Hardin. Technical challenges and mask design are discussed, with the production aiming for a more "classic" look for Michael Clarity/Detail: Halloween 4 features a “good enough to get by” transfer in Anchor Bay’s original release. The image is kind of drab and doesn’t really excel at much of anything. Don’t get me wrong, its much better than any DVD of the film, but its besting is noticeable at best when it should have been light years. Behind-the-Scenes Footage (24:04, SD) was captured by screenwriter Daniel Farrands during the first week of shooting.
