About this deal

Repeatedly denied the reinforcements he had requested to aid him and the Maelstrom Warders in carrying out their tasks, in his arrogance and pride, the Tyrant of Badab sought to expand his forces into a force equal to a Space Marine Legion of old. Further covert investigation would later uncover that the Astral Claws Apothecarion were conducting heretical experiments in rapid gene-seed zygote cultivation. Though largely unsuccessful, the Astral Claws eventually stood at around an estimated 3,500 battle-brothers strong. Soon the Tyrant's Legion proved their worth as they repulsed numerous corsair raids, freeing the Astral Claws from their defensive stance. The Chapter was able to conduct a series of lightning raids into outlying areas to harass and destroy Heretic and xenos-controlled areas. With the increase of Huron's tally of victories, and the curtailing of corsair activity and the increase in Maelstrom Zone production never before reached, the fame of the Astral Claws' "tyrant" grew beyond the Maelstrom Zone. Can it be true, can the Tyrant of Badab yet live, at least in some form by some foul agency? I have seen too many miracles both wondrous and nightmarish to claim it cannot be so. Are we, Mankind, then doomed to be always the father of our own torment, the genesis of our own destruction, time and time again? God Emperor help us - ever has it been so." On return to the Badab System, Captain Lufgt Huron was appointed as the Astral Claws' new Chapter Master by popular acclaim of his peers in 715.M41. He became the youngest warrior in the Chapter's history to attain this esteemed rank. Imperial historitors now point out that such a man of flawed character should never have been allowed to rise to the command of a Space Marine Chapter. Some secondary characters are fascinating, especially the Adeptus Mechanicus Dallax and Verngar the Apostate, the former Angel Encarmine.

The Chaos Space Marines Detachment included in Index Chaos Space Marines is ‘Slaves to Darkness’; it put no restrictions on how you build your army, and provides several benefits.

Huron himself is suspicious of most of his own lieutenants, and is constantly seeking to maintain his power over them. [23b] Gene-Seed When building your army, ‘The Lost and the Damned’ allows you to include a limited number of World Eaters Khorne Berzerkers, Thousand Sons Rubric Marines, or Death Guard Plague Marines in your army, replacing their faction keyword with Heretic Astartes. They lose any of their own faction abilities, instead gaining the full benefits of being part of yourChaos Space Marine army.

This saw him embrace Chaos earlier than any of the other Primarchs, leading him to begin seeding traitors throughout his brothers’ legions. It was one of these, Erebus, who oversaw the final corruption of Horus, leading the way to over ten thousand years of endless war. M41 - The War for Chogoris. The Red Corsairs besiege the White Scars homeworld of Chogoris and greater Yasan Sector. Though they are defeated on Chogoris, the Red Corsairs hold much of the Yasan Sector and even for a time had captured the Scars Chapter Master, Jubal Khan. [19b] The Astral Claws once watched over the Maelstrom, but even as they waged their war against the dark, they found themselves part of a dwindling host. Its fellow Maelstrom Warders Chapters were drawn off to fight other wars, and every request for aid was answered with silence. Reaver Lord. At the start of your Command phase, if this WARLORD is on the battlefield, roll a D6; on a 4+ you gain 1 Command point. The weakest trait of the bunch, the upside here is that this trait will likely pay for itself, as it’ll generate you an average of 2-3 CP per game. That said, that’s not necessarily enough upside compared to other CP generating abilities. This is, tragically, Huron’s trait, but the good news is you don’t have to buy it for him. He doesn’t even have to be your Warlord if you don’t want him to be. CSome observers say that it was during this time that Lufgt Huron became corrupted and fell from grace. Denied the goals he had spent a lifetime fighting for, he had been denied his glory as it was snatched from his hands at the last by those he should call master, finally unhinged him, or maybe he had given in to hubris and false pride. Some of the Tyrant's detractors have even gone so far as to suggest that during the Crusade of Wrath, whilst deep within the nightmare realm of the Maelstrom, something vile or Warp-tainted promises had wormed their way into his heart. Venomous Birthright — previously belonging to the Night Lords where it was known as the Echo of Damnation [8a]

During the first battle round, your army (and every unit from it) is engaged in Wanton Destruction. M37 - Returned from the Taninim Crusade bringing with them the thought-lost Explorator Ark Principia Gravis. Armanneus Valthex - Master of the Forge, The Alchemancer, Personal Armourer to Lufgt Huron and Corien Sumatris. [1c] But as the omission persisted, this signaled to the Mechanicus that there was some darker motive at work. This would later prove to be true with the Astral Claws, as evidence later indicated that this first great sin against the traditions of the Adeptus Astartes would arguably result in the Chapter's fall into heresy. At the start of the third battle round, select either Wanton Massacre or Wanton Slaughter; until the end of that battle round, your army (and every unit from it) is engaged in the wanton act you selected.

As the local sector Administratum continued to press the High Lords of Terra to intervene directly, the Maelstrom Warders proceeded to arm themselves for war and conducted sweeps of the Maelstrom Zone in force, while they simultaneously continued to augment their defences within the Badab Sector itself. Taking upon himself the mantle of planetary ruler, Lufgt Huron stylised himself the "Tyrant of Badab," claiming the inhabited worlds in proximity to the hospitable region of the void around the Badab System as his Chapter's fiefdom. In his subsequent pronouncement, he echoed the example and precedents of the sovereign realm of Ultramar and the Maelstrom Warders' charter. Models with this trait count as two models when determining control of an objective marker, or 5 models if they have a Wounds characteristic of 10 or more. Though largely unsuccessful, the Astral Claws eventually stood at around an estimated 3,500 battle-brothers strong, a direct violation of the proscriptions laid out in the Codex Astartes.
