About this deal

The funny thing? If I put on a piece of crap full face helmet, I ride like a banshee. Because I feel like I’m protected. My riding style changes subconsciously. Overall, I believe this situation is much MORE dangerous than no helmet at all. The LS2 Drifter Helmet is almost a spitting image to the Halo Master Chief motorcycle helmet. But it’s also a great helmet. Kelly, Kevin (June 17, 2007). "Watch the Exclusive RvB Content Without a Zune". Joystiq. Archived from the original on August 21, 2007 . He trained with other Spartans under Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez. For eight years he learned history, military strategy, weapons and received physical fitness training. Early on, he bonded with Kelly and Sam, who would become two of the few close friends that he would ever have. We have gone into considerate detail when it comes to the key considerations in our other articles, but to summarize: It’s not unusual for riders to have more than one helmet – after all, helmets are a fundamental part of staying safe on the road and carry the huge responsibility of protecting our noggins everywhere we ride. The would-be UNSC Marine Lieutenant Parisa was a childhood friend of John's who John once saved from drowning at Lake Gusev; John thereafter promised to marry and protect her. Parisa's father shot a photo of the two soon after that Parisa kept as a memento long after she thought John had died. [12] John was also friends with Ellie Bloom and Katrina during his childhood. Some nights, John would lay in grass fields with the girls and the three of them would look up at the stars together. [13] a b Grossman, Lev (August 30, 2007). "The Man in the Mask". Time. Until the release of Halo 4, John-117's face has never been seen in the games, and therefore his appearance is left mostly to one's imagination. The novels Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo: The Flood give some insight to John's appearance. Early in Halo: The Fall of Reach, when Dr. Catherine Halsey and Lieutenant Jacob Keyes go to Eridanus II to observe John as a child, he is described as "a typical six-year-old male, with tousled brown hair and a sly smile that revealed a gap between his front teeth." [60] In Halo: The Flood, referring to John in 2552, he is described as having "Short hair, with serious eyes, a firm mouth, and a strong jaw." He is described as being unnaturally pale, a consequence of spending most of his time in his armor. [61]

For Halo 4, Bungie bought their independence from Microsoft, with Microsoft assigning further Halo development to 343 Industries. [15] Art director Kenneth Scott aimed to find "sweet spot" where Master Chief's armor remained familiar but still new. The armor was redesigned to feel futuristic and heavy, weighing hundreds of pounds, with details inspired by real-world military vehicles. [16] In contrast to newer characters, the armor of Master Chief and his fellow elder Spartans was intended to look more tanklike and utilitarian. [17] Despite the visual differences between the character's armor in Halo 3 and Halo 4, the developers intended it to canonically be the same armor. [14] Halo 4 also made extensive use of motion capture for character animation, with Bruce Thomas portraying Master Chief while interacting with multiple actors in studio. Even without his face or voice appearing in the game, Thomas was credited by creative director Josh Holmes for conveying Master Chief's physicality and emotions, and for influencing the other actors' performances. [15] With the development of Halo Infinite, Thomas returned to provide motion capture for the character, as he had in Halo 4 and Halo 5. [18] 343 Industries redesigned Master Chief's armor once again, while drawing inspiration from the character's previous looks. [61] The character has also been used to market several physical products, including Slurpees, Mountain Dew, branded controllers, and clothing. [62] [63] [64] [65] Several Master Chief action figures were marketed around the Halo series, including lines by McFarlane, [66] [67] Jazwares, [68] 1000toys, [69] and Mega Bloks. One2One collectibles also produced 1:2 scale busts of the Master Chief. [70] The heavy merchandising was considered necessary for the game franchise; Ed Ventura, director of Xbox's worldwide marketing, said, "We want to be in the hearts and minds of our fans as much as we can." When it was first announced that Master Chief would take off his helmet in the upcoming Paramount+ TV series adaptation of the long-running Halo video game franchise, many questioned if it was a wise decision. After all, in the two decades worth of Halo stories, we've never seen Master Chief's face. Those days are done, though, and according to Chief himself (Pablo Schreiber) and the show's executive producers, it's a necessary step forward. These included the Harvest Campaign, [22] the Battle of Jericho VII, where he and a handful of Spartans destroyed a force of over a thousand Unggoy, and the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, in which John and his Blue Team detonated a HAVOK Nuclear Warhead to clear Covenant forces from the city of Côte d'Azur. By summer of 2552, he had received every medal awarded by the UNSC except the Prisoner of War Medallion: Covenant forces usually take no prisoners, and John would not allow himself or any other Spartan-II to be captured by the enemy.
