About this deal

Species typical of northern meadow communities include globeflower, marsh hawks-beard and wood crane’s-bill. The population of eyebright (Euphrasia rostokoviana) is probably one of the largest in the United Kingdom. There is a very small population of the uncommon small white orchid. NKDC’s Tree Strategy formalises our intention to plant 5000 more trees on Council land across the district between now and 2027. One example of this is at Sheldrake Road in Sleaford, where 700 trees have been planted already, with wildlife and wildflower areas in progress. This scheme is designed to benefit nature while providing enrichment to the local area.

If you want your floor to look great for years to come, here’s a few tips on how to maintain that brand new look. In winter, north Norfolk is especially famous for the largest and most varied concentrations of geese in the country. Winter is wonderful for wildlife! One of the most impressive spectacles is large skeins of pink-footed geese. Over a third of the world's population of this species migrate to Norfolk for winter, mainly in January and February. Roosting together at night, the geese are very noisy and their dawn and dusk flights to inland feeding areas, are an amazing wildlife sight best seen at NWT Holme Dunes, NWT Cley Marshes and RSPB Titchwell. Winter is also when the seal colonies are well worth a visit. Snowdrops also make an appearance from late January and there are plenty of places to see this amazing sight. Find out more here.
