About this deal

Looking from the side of the Playseat Trophy, the frame starts under the wheel plate and angles down at roughly 45°. The first leg, so to speak, is about 25″ in length before curving down into a rounded 90° corner for another 9 1/2″ before curving upward for another 27 1/2″ (extendable to ~32 1/2″) then a final 90° corner down for the final 24″ of the frame underneath the seat. At both the top by the wheel plate and under the seat, the main frame tubing curves inwards and joins together with the other half of the seat frame. Logitech G25, G27, G29, G920, G923 and direct drive PRO Razing Wheels and Pedals, in addition to other makes and models of wheels and pedals There was a considerable amount of collaboration on this product to make the Challenge X more functional, comfortable and overall, a better racing experience, than traditional desktop gaming chairs. During that process our teams focused on three key areas of a sim racing chair and we couldn’t be more happy with the results.” said Jim Hoey, head of simulation marketing at Logitech G. LIGHTWEIGHT & EASY TO STORE – The Playseat® Trophy-Logitech G Edition’s carbon steel frame is strong and exceptionally lightweight. At 37 lbs (17kg), it’s one of the lightest chairs on the market. The Trophy’s design and weight are ideal for easy storage when not in use. One interesting feature is the dual clutch setting, which allows you to set up both analogue paddles to serve as the clutch for faster starts. By experimenting in a practice mode, you can find the exact bite point of the clutch with 100 percent throttle, then in a race fully release the right side clutch - automatically at the bite point you've discovered - then gradually release the left side clutch paddle to move off the line with maximum traction… Image credit: Logitech

The Playseat Trophy – Logitech G Edition with the PRO Racing Wheel and Pedals enhances the racing experience. The Logitech wheel features four paddles, with two gloriously tactile Hall effect shifters and two analogue paddles that could be used for the clutch or even brake/accelerate if you aren't able to use foot pedals. The wheel has a good number of additional buttons and dials, all of which are properly labelled to allow for easy menu navigation and access to all of the common racing sim functions (eg for F1: brake bias and differential adjustment, DRS/ERS deployment, pit speed limiters, race engineer communication, etc). Logitech G and sim racing are inextricably linked. From the early days of racing games to the modern simulation masterpieces that parallel reality—which IRL racing professionals use to train—Logitech G has provided continuous innovation for racing and simulation enthusiasts at home,” said Tako Dijkman, CEO at Playseat. “Because Logitech G provides design and technology innovation unlike any other in the world, it seems only natural for us to pair our revolutionary products with theirs. This partnership has enabled us to create a truly one-of-a-kind racing rig. With a foundational legacy in the simulation industry and our combined DNA of breakthrough engineering, we can bring the most versatile and immersive racing solution to more people who want to experience the thrill of racing.” ActiFit™️ MATERIAL– The Playseat® Trophy-Logitech G Edition racing seat allows racing enthusiasts, of any age or size, to experience the thrill of racing, just like in a real race car. This seat has been developed with Playseat®’s Innovative ActiFit™️ material, which comfortably conforms to your body to give you the best support and allows you to feel the full input from your Logitech G wheel products. The ActiFit™️ material also dissipates heat, allowing for racing in long stints without overheating.STRENGTH & QUALITY– The patented and revolutionary design has set a new standard for the ultimate, immersive racing experience. The frame is made out of lightweight carbon steel and is developed to provide extreme rigidity. Durable powder coating finish, high-grade steel alloys, anodised aluminum parts, and the use of PU leather allow for unrivaled durability for in-home and professional use. This game-changing racing seat is capable of supporting the full range of Logitech G Wheel and Pedal products, including additional accessories by using add-ons. Assembling the Playseat Trophy – Logitech G Edition took me about an hour to do by myself. The instructions are pretty straightforward and all the pieces required, and a few extras, are included. The seat consists of thirteen pieces in total, as well as various bolts, knobs, and washers. Oh, and it comes with white gloves to help protect the frame during installation. The Trophy is a massive lump, however. Unlike the foldable Dark Matter GT, you'll have to find somewhere to store the Playseat Trophy in its entirety, as you're not taking this thing apart to put it away. You'd never use it again. As such, it's definitely a luxury to have any space for such a thing.

The unique and patented integrated design, features maximum performance, quality, and comfort into the Playseat® Trophy. Its cover is made out of breathable Playseat® ActiFit™ material, allowing for many hours of racing without sweating. There are coloured rev counter LEDs at the top of the wheel, with a small monochrome display below that allows you to change wheel settings, switch between five profiles and see your inputs (good for calibrating your load cell brake). This screen doesn't appear able to show in-game stats like speed or available ERS reserves like the T818's display does - though a ‘dynamic' screen setting does hint that this functionality could be available in the future. If you have a direct drive racing wheel, especially the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel and Pedals, the Playseat Trophy – Logitech G Edition is a solid, sturdy, and I’d say fairly reasonably priced seat stand. It’s pretty straightforward to assemble, matches nicely with the PRO Racing Wheel and Pedal branding, and is comfortable to sit in even though it has a floating seat design. Playseat’s ActiFit™ Material is very comfortable and dissipates heat so you don’t get sweat, even after long gaming sessions. After a visit to Reddit, a much better and easier-to-adjust installation option for the lumbar strap on the Playseat Trophy – Logitech G Edition became apparent.

A frameless but extremely stable seating structure in which the seat adapts itself naturally to the body of the racer Next up, the matching Pro Racing Pedals. The main draw here is that this three-pedal set includes a load cell brake pedal, which applies the brakes based on the force with which you push the pedal, rather than just how far the pedal travels. This subtle difference makes it easier to apply brake pressure consistently each time you arrive at a given braking zone, potentially saving you some lap time in the long run and feeling more realistic to boot. Image credit: Digital Foundry/Logitech Compatible with all Direct Drive steering wheels (Logitech G, Fanatec, SimSteering, Heusinkveld, Simucube, etc.) Through my first few laps around Silverstone, two factors become immediately clear, comfort and stability. Both can be chalked up to the Playseat Trophy’s unique frameless seat which, without the determinate restrictions of a moulded seat, shaped around me and let my body sit how it wanted. I felt well supported and as if the Trophy G Edition had welcomed me into the rig as a whole.Once you have the wheel and pedals on, the wires from the pedal to the wheel and the USB and power cables from the wheel can be nicely tied to the frame of the Playseat Trophy (I used the right side) with the included velcro cable ties. Not only is it a nice inclusion, but the fact they are the tab/loop velcro ties, you can easily remove and readjust them as needed. The Playseat Trophy – Logitech G Edition pedal plate (right) has extra holes for better securing of the PRO Pedals (left image courtesy u/Scotty002H on Reddit).
