Among other things, it can now deliver up to three Guest networks (one for each band) throughout the mesh system, and not just at the router unit. The previous AC3100 had issues with randomly dropping a nearby Wyze doorbell camera which this one does not. Ironically the nearly decade old Samsung laser printer connected via wired network to the router now drops every few days, but I’m replacing the printer for them anyway so not a major problem. The one other device wired to the router is an Apple TV 4K gen2 and thats had no issues. The actual transfer speed of USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and/or Type-C will vary depending on many factors including the processing speed of the host device, file attributes and other factors related to system configuration and your operating environment.

I tested the RT-AX92U first as a standalone router and then as a wireless AiMesh system. A year ago, the router proved to be a bit of a rough ride. This second time around, with the latest firmware, things were much better. Fast but still no 2.4Gbps Wi-Fi 6 connectionp.s. Australia’s NBN plans to have cheaper multi-gigabit around 2026 – so I have around 2 years perhaps with these units. Reply

Both my Galaxy Note 10+ and laptop are at the same spot. Laptop is using an old D-Link DWA-182 wifi adaptor (AC1200 dual band b/g/n/ac). My Note 10+ connects only to the 2.4GHz of the AX92U (main unit), where as the D-Link connects to the 5GHz of the same unit. I don’t know why, my phone can only connect to 5Ghz if i’m in front of AX92U, and if i leave the unit out of sight, my phone switches to 2.4GHz. I had rebooted the router to no avail. Phone still connects to 2.4GHz while the wifi adaptor connects to 5GHz. How can I make the phone to select 5GHz? However, if i goto the node (located upstair) coverage area, phone connects to its 5GHz without issue. How can I make my phone connects to 5GHz of the main unit?
