About this deal

Something akin to excitement flared to life inside Wilbur and he disentangled himself from around Phil to stand shoulder to shoulder with him. Wilbur’s hands shook just like the night he first played his guitar, the most primal of his daydreams unfolding before him. He felt powerful standing over the man, drinking in the unbridled terror like a parched man to water. This is where he was meant to be.

This book follows two main characters, Kimberly and Aaron. We get a split POV between the two of them, which I love. You can learn so much about a character from how they perceive the world around them, but also from how they are perceived by others. Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are.” Who knew running from the most dangerous vampire in the city could cause so many problems? Conflict with the rivalry coven, getting into trouble with witches, and of course, being hunted relentlessly by his sire. Clearly, his sire wasn't going to give in, and neither was Tommy. He was never going to stop running. The strongest family ties are often the ones woven through friendships, compassion, and shared moments.” Blood relations are like the branches of a tree, reaching out in different directions, yet connected at the core.”He makes a spinning motion with two of his fingers, signaling for me to turn around. “You don’t have to watch. Unless you want to.” The Bound by Blood series will be a trilogy. Book 2 is currently with my publisher, and I am almost halfway through the first draft of Book 3. I am so excited (impatiently so) to be able to share Book 2 with readers because the character arcs that are in store for these two… I adore the trajectory of their relationship, and love watching as they work through all the wonderfully horrible obstacles I am obligated to throw at them as their author.

The plot had sort of a mystery thing going on, which could have worked except the author was transparent the entire time. Anyone with any semblance of critical thinking skills could have figured out who our villain was, and why he was targeting them. Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Find out how in this guide. Our FMC, Kimberly is too pure for this world and she is just such an easy fit into Aaron’s family. She’s so kind and supportive. I think one of the biggest draws to this book is like hey! Nice family dynamic! Not toxic! Family that mostly likes each other! So I think it’s important to note that Aaron’s brothers are wonderful guys. They are kind but strong and are willing to drop everything to protect each other. Wary of the enemy, he allowed his eyes to dart along the market for the stall he had risked adventuring out for. It was a herb stall, cheap and reasonable, and Tubbo - Tommy’s friend - had a discount. Clutching at the scratchy paper Tubbo had given him, Tommy made his way over to the green-cloth covered table. His nose wrinkled at the perfume of all the herbs and flowers mingling together. It smelled almost like rotten eggs and shit. That was one of the many things that had changed. What would smell nice to a human was repulsive to Tommy. The only thing that smelled enticing was blood. The smut in this was well-written and the story was well-paced. Also, Sol is a total sweetheart, and it is stupidly easy to simp for the big dragon man.I really enjoyed this sequel. It has some of my favorite tropes (enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, pretend plaything) and I loved Nadir. Chelsea could have been cut from this book entirely and nothing would change. But we needed a petty sorority girl for our "not like other girls girl" to compare to and have a conflict with. I damn nearly saw my brain with how hard I rolled my eyes every time she was in a scene. Being in hiding was easier than you’d think. Just keep your head down, don’t draw too much attention to yourself. Pretty simple, right? Well, it had nearly been a year and Tommy hadn’t been caught.
