Blessed Baraka is an EDP and projects just over arm’s length for about 1.5 to 3 hours leaving a nice scent trail… Now, the star of the show is the rose, and as it dries down it’s joined with a hint of vanilla that leaves you with a beautiful fresh sweet peppery citrusy rose. Thus the vanilla always remains in the lead in the further process, although in the opening hour the leather also flashes out again and again shyly, before it then completely disappears. The dominant vanilla is a smooth, feather-soft and at no time scratchy feel-good vanilla, which gets rid of its initial animal note, but rather tame and cuddly innocent than seductive. Even the musk, which gradually reveals itself, no longer lends a dramatic twist to this pleasantly sweet overall constellation. Top notes are fleeting and are only for you – think of them as the finishing touch to your glamour ritual or a little magic dust that gives you a feeling of joy and empowerment,” highlights Eva. “It’s really the heart and base notes you want to focus on to cast a spell on all around you. You may well not perceive them but others will.”

It’s warm, sweet (but not too sweet), sexy and inviting. And attracts a LOT of positive attention. (Not complaining!) Blessed Baraka opens with a sweet fruity spicy leather vibe mixed with some rich creamy sandalwood and warm amber. As the name suggests, Absolute Aphrodisiac is part of the Absolute collection. But does it live up to its name? When it first opens it has a slight similarity to the fragrance Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf (except Rehab is smoother, richer, and far superior smelling).Don’t go crazy with the sprays. This is definitely a “less is more” type fragrance… 1–2 sprays MAX and you’re good to go.

Later, we can also find it in much more modest quantities in Cabochar Gres, Aramis, Knize Ten, YSL Kouros, YSL Opium, Caron Yatagan, Paloma Picasso, Chanel Antaeus. Rehab opens up fresh, clean and spicy with a blast of bergamot citrus mixed with lavender and some spicy tobacco.What surprised me at the very first test was that this fragrance - unlike what you would expect from Initio and its name - comes across as rather monothematic. For me Absolute Aphrodiasac remains a vanilla scent from beginning to end. The Bibergeil (which caused me some concern before) proves to be harmless and only adds a discreet animal note to the top note of the fragrance. Also the white flowers can be guessed at most. Oud for Greatness opens with a dark, smoky woody oud mixed with some sweet saffron, lavender, and a touch of nutmeg. This works well all year round, except in the high summer heat: special occasions, dates, work/office safe (spray lightly), casual, nights out, etc… Psychedelic Love is an EDP and projects nicely (about an arm’s length) for the first few hours, then sits closer to the skin… becoming an intimate scent that draws people in. Castoreum is a specific fragrant secretion from the castor sacs of the beaver, one of the biggest rodents who live in Europe, Asia and North America.
