About this deal

Barring the main details noted above, The P45 and CDP S100 have considerable differences, which some may consider minor but are quite consequential, particularly for students. The disparity is where Yamaha bests Casio 2:1. Feel Sound Differences: Not much at all. The S110 has a bit of a more natural decay and velocity, giving it a tiny edge over its predecessor. The Touch As I have mentioned several times already, the feel and the tone of these two digital pieces are at par with each other. However, the entry-level Yamaha edges out the entry-level Casio by just a tiny bit in this particular aspect, as fully detailed below. Personally, I recommend practicing with the standard preset, as it has the clearest tone of the bunch and allows you to pinpoint mistakes and weaknesses easily. This piano also includes built-in speakers, enabling users to play and enjoy their music without the need for external equipment. It has a USB interface, allowing for easy connection to other devices such as computers or MIDI controllers. The Casio CDP-S100 can be powered by either an AC power source or batteries, providing flexibility for on-the-go musicians. The typical power consumption is 8 watts, making it an energy-efficient choice.

On the front panel, printed text guides above the keys guide you through the process of changing settings.Yes, I actually do. I believe this is at the lower end of digital pianos that I would recommend, however, that’s what its intentions are. Overall I had a grand piano and also am incredibly impressed with how much digital keyboards have improved over the years in terms of touch and action. Again, repeated notes, trills, blues/jazz slurs and grace notes are all very responsive. Talking about the effects, the CDP-S100 comes with two built-in effects, the Chorus and the Reverb. The reverb has four algorithms in ascending grades from a small room to a large concert hall, at the maximum grade. Chorus again comes in four different types starting from a subtle stereo sound to lavish lush flanging tunes. There is just one aspect that I look for when it comes to the ‘feel’: likeness to an acoustic piano.

As aforementioned, the two are pretty much the same when it comes to the audio and overall sensation. Since these two are the most critical features, expect to read an in-depth analysis below.

Supports battery operation

This opinion may feel quite simplistic to more sophisticated musicians, but this indulgence is rarely expected from low-cost digital pianos.

You may wonder how it is possible to have 32, 64, or even 128 notes playing at the same time, if there are only 88 keys and we never play them all at once. Grand Piano Standard, Grand Piano Mellow, Grand Piano Bright, Elec. Piano 1, Elec. Piano 2, Elec. Piano 3, Harpsichord, Strings, Pipe Organ, Jazz Organ ) The CDP S-100 is definitely targeting a more beginner to intermediate crowd. It can be used by advanced players obviously, but that isn’t what the purpose of this was meant for.

The CDP-S100 includes helpful guides on the keyboard to assist with navigation and setting changes, so the main advantage of using the app is that you can always see the tempo of your metronome. Sustain pedal: It is a small yet intuitive box-shaped pedal device and is great for practice sessions. CDP-S100 does not support half-pedaling. Finally, the organ sounds are very nicely done. The keys work as organ slides and the sounds include an authentic emulation of a rotary speaker (albeit unmodifiable).
