About this deal

You may place the Flower Festival basic Event beside the main board, or on the designated space on the Bellfaire board. This basic Event is achieved the same way as the other basic Events.

Once everyone has completed their actions for the final season (fall) the game ends. The winner is determined based on the sum total of points on all of the cards that players have in their personal tableau (up to a maximum of fifteen.) There are eight bonus objectives to score as well (four of which are randomised during setup) and some cards provide bonuses when combined, or bonuses for collecting certain resources or similar.

The Absurdity

Axolotls: At the beginning of the game, place 1 of the "any" resource tokens on each of the Basic locations on the board

You may not use the Rats Player Power in a solo game. If Rugwort claims the Flower Festival event, he scores 4 points for that Event. Rugwort still gets all of his workers, even if you are using Player Powers and you do not a gain a worker in spring.

Modules

You may pay as many berries as you would like. Example: You could pay 6 berries to decrease the cost of a Construction by 3 resources. Cardinals: Increase your hand limit by 2 cards. After you draw cards, either from placing a worker or another effect, you may draw 1 additonal card.

Everdell is a game of worker placement, resource collection and tableau building in a woodland realm populated by one to four groups of animals. Each player controls one such group, which will be represented in game by gorgeous little wooden animeeples. Everdell is set in a forest beneath the Evertree, which is represented in the game by a large, well made and gloriously detailed model that is included in both the basic and Collector’s Edition versions of the game.Personally, I enjoy the thought of the Market since it provides a flexible action location but, in all honesty, I don’t find myself using it very often. I think it would have been more useful if the number of resources you get from each token were slightly different. One token has three twigs on it and a card, but there is already a normal location with three twigs. Sure, that extra card might be good but then the tile swings to the Trade side and that gives my opponent an easy three victory points and two resources if she decides to turn in the three twigs (that she could easily secure from the main board) and a card. The new Bellfaire special Events are less specific events than those found in the base game. These can be added to the game in a number of ways, depending on preference: You alone may visit these Forest locations. Note: An opponent may not copy these Forest locations with a Lookout.

The setup was no joke, obviously, but once laid out the game is quite stunning on the table. Assuming, that is, that a table of sufficient size is available. I’m not sure I’d have been half as happy playing on the floor! By game’s end, our dining room table might have been able to bear a third player, but even at two we were often standing for portions of our turn because the needed component was out of arm’s reach. The scores were bloated, but not to an extreme. Honestly, they were only a small percentage higher than my most recent play of Newleaf. Jonathan Bolding (2022-08-03). "One of BoardGameGeek's top games now has a Steam version". PC Gamer . Retrieved 2022-10-04.Whenever that card is played, either by you or an opponent, gain 1 of any resource that you do not already have, then move the Rugwort token to a different Meadow card.
