Nose: Light and fruity, mainly banana and some apricots, but finally a touch of orange zest too. There’s a whiff of breakfast tea, bung cloth and macadamia nuts also. Not the most expressive, but satisfying nonetheless. Our Service is an online platform which provides Members with information (e.g. bottle facts, market-indices, market values and prices) on (mostly) whisky and allows Members to add information to the platform. We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products. So, if you’re looking for a short but sweet dram with a great aroma that’s not too heavy on the price, GlenDronach 12 is a solid choice. Its sweet and fiery profile makes it a grand option for casual sipping. Glendronach 27 yo 1992/2020 (54.5%, OB for Abbey Whisky and Sean Russel/The Gas, PX puncheon, cask #5850, 625 bottles) - 230720Glendronach 17 yo 1996/2013 (53.1%, OB, batch 8, Pedro Ximenez puncheon, cask #1490, 709 bottles) - 190813 When comparing GlenDronach 12 vs. Macallan 12 Sherry Oak, their distinct flavour profiles will more than likely be your main deciding factor. They can complement different uses and circumstances depending on your preference for longevity and complexity. The latest release in the famed GlenDronach Distillery’s Cask Strength series is here, and it’s exclusive to the Club in Australia. Get excited for The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 10 - the absolute definition of Sherried perfection from the undisputed masters of Sherry cask maturation. Glendronach 19 yo 1995/2015 (55.1%, OB, Whisky Nerds, oloroso sherry butt, cask #2380, 628 bottles) - 310817 Based on these scores, Macallan 12 Sherry Oak is the preferred choice. Its rich colour, complex palate, and overall flavour experience contribute to its victory. The whisky’s enticing aroma, satisfying mouthfeel, and well-balanced taste come together to create a captivating and immersive drinking experience. If we decide not to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms, such decision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. GlenDronach 13 yo 2003/2016 (52.3%, OB, Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon finish, cask #4034, 696 bottles) - 190122 This seems to be replacing the older GlenDronach “10 year” Port Wood, which had an age statement. (Or, perhaps, the UK version has the age statement? Information on this bottling is sparse.) I think we can all assume that means the NAS bottling is younger than 10. My guess is they needed the freedom to mix in some high-performing 8- and 9-year casks to meet demand. That’s just a guess. The age-stated version’s label also revealed a 3-year extra maturation time in Port (so 7 in sherry, 3 in port). This NAS version doesn’t mention that, so it’s possible the time spent in port has been shortened as well.
