With the iDig system operators can manage distances, depths and desired slopes through a combination of advanced technologies that use no cables, are powered by radio communication and come with simplified installation and solar charging. iDig will attempt to import any file ending in “.csv” or “.tab” that it finds in the File Sharing folder. Most spreadsheet programs (such as Excel and Numbers) can import and export these comma-separated and tab-delimited file formats. iDig will assume that the field names used in the import file are the same as those used in the export file. All conflicts should be carefully reviewed. It is possible for an item to be modified simultaneously by multiple peers. The conflict resolution panel will provide you with options for selecting a version to keep or for merging multiple versions together.

Sensors are wireless and use radio communication. iDig stores all configuration data in the Preferences.json file located in the File Sharing folder. Custom fields and controlled vocabulary lists can be added to this file. The format of this file may change in the future.

Technical Details

iDig uses a simple combination of wireless, solar-powered sensors, an LED lightbar, an optional laser with laser receiver (or you can use one you already have) and a large colour touchscreen to take your benchmark into the cab and accurately guide you to your required depth or grade. iDig is made with super durable plastic and heavy duty fabrics. And like I mentioned earlier, the fact that it’s one solid unit and isn’t pieced together by the customer really adds to the durability.
