About this deal

The transparent, plastic splashguard is yet another helpful addition, particularly because it has a pouring chute so you do not need to stop the mixer and open the guard to increase the ingredients – which any person that bakes can concur is a tremendous annoyance. The splash guard is innovative and very effective, and while it's heavy, the owl means you can keep a knowing eye on your bakes as they mix. I also enjoyed the range of speeds, and how powerful they can be if you turn them up high. If you wanted to make a meringue, it would be perfect. About this review, and the reviewer Next, I made a sponge cake batter, starting by creaming together sugar and butter using the K-beater. This took around two minutes to achieve a consistent pale creamy texture. Look for dishwasher safe attachments, as washing them manually could be an enormous headache. Make sure you look at the clothes instructions, although, placing accessories in over a warm wash can possibly split the plastic. While the metallic lower half of the machine is matte, the gold top is super-shiny, attracting smudges – which isn’t entirely good form for an appliance that’s likely to encounter greasy hands. The same goes for the 5l stainless steel bowl, but the shininess here is pretty standard among all stand mixers.

The kMix is equipped with a 1000W motor – more than sufficient for light jobs, but plenty for the heavier mixtures, too – so it’s no surprise that it sailed through all the tasks I threw its way. Beating – All-in-one cake ingredients were mixed in less than a minute with no residue at the bottom. It took just 20 seconds to fold berries into cake batter. A handle on the edge of the (relatively heavy) 5L stainless steel mixing bowl is much appreciated, as well as the remarkable Soft Start function which inhibits the mixer from beating or whisking the combination wildly in case you change it as much as a top speed. Rather, the intelligent speed control will keep your ingredients firmly in the bowl by starting the pace gradually. The 1000W stand mixer provides an amazing design and exceptional performance to match. The brand new kMix features:splash guard with a pouring chute so that you are able to put ingredients without stopping the kMix. Even in case you begin the mixer on top speed, it is going to speed up gently and slowly to prevent your substances in the bowl. The gold version of the kMix stand mixer I tested isn’t for shrinking violets; it’s a statement. In its shininess, it’s reminiscent of Daft Punk’s famous helmets – only with more gold and with some stainless steel thrown in for good measure, too.

The transparent plastic splashguard is handy, too, particularly since its pouring chute has a little door that can be closed when mixing lighter and messier ingredients – flour or icing sugar, for example. I started by whisking three egg whites with the whisk tool. The bowl can accommodate up to 12 – ideal for batches of soufflé or multiple meringues – but even this smaller number didn’t get neglected at the bottom of the bowl. I particularly liked the stainless steel beater and dough hook; the KitchenAid Artisan 4.8L Stand Mixer beater and dough hook have a white enamel coating that can chip away over time.Take a look at our Best Buy stand mixers to see which models we recommend to save you time and effort in the kitchen. Tagged as: The sturdy machine will undoubtedly take care of whatever you throw at it, but does its overall performance – and also the shiny metal finish – justify the premium cost because of this Chrome Collection kMix? What is Kmix 760 like?

The KMix still looks and can feel as a high-quality mixer. Weighing in at 10.9kg, it is quite a hefty appliance. Size-wise it comes in at 240 x 385 x 355mm (WDH), and it needs a good bit of room. The Chrome KMX760 is pretty quiet as stand mixers go, with no discernable ratting even at high speeds with a lot of mixture in the bowl. The automatic shut off when the mixer head is lifted and non-slip feet are also nice touches in terms of safety precautions. The beater is ideal for cake batter, as well as anything that requires folding or rubbing fat into flour. The whisk is perfect for egg whites and cream, while the dough hook is for kneading bread. The dial features nine different speed settings: the fold function for the gentlest of stirrings and settings “min” and “max”, with speeds of 1 to 6 in-between.

A good stand mixer is a kitchen essential for anyone who regularly makes cakes, batters or breads. Even if you’re a beginner, a well-equipped mixer can do wonders for your baking repertoire. It saves you a lot of time and, in the case of batch baking and bread making, can often do a much better job than your own hands.
