The sound quality delivered by monitors and laptops tends to be pretty disappointing and PC speakers are the simplest way to upgrade your audio without the need for large amplifiers or lots of connection cables. Listen to them with your eyes closed and you’d swear you were listening to speakers costing three times as much and with drivers considerably larger than the 2.75in full-range modules that nestle inside each unit. The sheer loudness is impressive: we recorded peak sound levels of 91dB at a 1m distance, although some distortion does rear its ugly head when you crank the volume right up.
The external power requirement ensures that no sound quality is lost while bumping the output, but unless you like things LOUD or have a larger room you want to fill with sound, the normal mode is going to be absolutely fine. Even then, you're able to get some pretty serious volume without any loss in clarity. In a smaller office like mine, they're perfectly capable of delivering face-melting metal at volume.
The good news is that setup is fairly simple considering how few wires there are connected to the speakers... but the bad news is that all the cables run through the right speaker, making it a little challenging for us to lay things out in a neat way - this isn’t one of those 2.1 systems that enables you to be all that creative on the display side of things. The Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus is a rear facing car seat specifically designed for newborns. It's a Group 0+ car seat which means it can be used from birth to 13kg or until your child is 75cm in length, whichever comes first. Too big for some cars: A few of our testers reported that they had trouble fitting it into their car as it was too large. The sheer size of the Nommo Pro makes it a poor choice for those short on desk space but if you have the room to accommodate it, it’s a powerful and versatile system that will enhance your audio experience whether you’re gaming, watching a movie or simply listening to some tunes.
