About this deal

Indoor Rounders is a limited-ball, six-a-side game for both men and women and can be played as a team or as a drop-in game to make it easier for busy people to come and have a go. It is exciting, fast and fun, with the ball bouncing off the ceiling and off the walls at odd angles which makes it easy for anyone to be able to score and have fun.

Lesson five of the rounders scheme of work introduces the idea of tactics in rounders. The class will be tested to see if they understand the difference between tactics and strategy and will be given the opportunity to practise different tactics in rounders during match situations. What are some tactics in rounders? While there are differences between the rules set by Rounders England and by the GAA, [15] [14] they share much in common. The bowler, or 'feeder', bowls the ball with an underarm pendulum action to the batter. According to Rounders England rules, the ball is deemed a 'good' ball if it passes within reach on the striking side between the batter's knees and the top of the head. Otherwise, it is called a 'no-ball' or 'bad' ball. The ball is also regarded as bad if it is thrown into the batter's body or wide of the batting box. A batter may try to hit a bad ball but is not required to do so. A player is not out if a no-ball is caught and cannot be called out on first base. Each batter faces one delivery at a time. They should try and get to the first post before they are given out. When children reach key stage 2, throughout the ages of seven to eleven, the national curriculum expects that children will learn to play competitive games, modified where appropriate. Rounders is great for everything from family holidays to corporate retreats. You can also take part at a competitive level and join a team. There are also versions of the game for every schedule and occasion! From nine-a-side, two innings games to fun mini versions; variations of the game include indoor rounders, wheelchair rounders, and outdoors on grass or artificial surfaces and on the beach. When the game begins, one team takes the batting innings while the other team fields and bowls. The bowler bowls the ball to the batter, who hits the ball anywhere on the rounders pitch.

Rounders is a game enjoyed by everyone from families at the beach, groups of friends in the local park, to those who wish to play and compete at a more serious level. Suitable for any age, it is a fun and beneficial way to exercise. Rounders is typically played up and down the country each summer. Batters line up one by one to take their turn in the batting square. The bowler or ‘feeder’ throws the ball towards the batter. A player becomes ‘out’ of the innings when: A batter can run on any hit ball that lands in good ground or which is made good by touching a fielder then landing in foul ground. On a third good ball a batter has to run (move from batters box) whether they hit it or not. Five innings constitute a game, depending on the level of the match. Each batting team's inning continues until three outs are made. The basic regulations for Rounders have evolved since the simple ‘bat-and-ball’ fun days played several centuries ago. To play the game you need the basic rounders equipment list. That includes a bat, a ball, and 4 posts which form a diamond shape when they are set out. The pitch should contain a bowler’s square measuring 2.5 meters.
