About this deal

Reprint wise, it's just sad. Let me list down cards that I think are useless. Again, I could be wrong but if you want me to explain more on the card I choose here, please ask me in the comment section.

Breena, the Demagogue Pillowfort Politics Breena, the Demagogue Pillowfort Politics Breena, the Demagogue Pillowfort Politics Vainglories are Silverquill mages who use words to inspire or reproach, which can cause intense changes in their target's emotional state. [5] Eloquents, a highly sought-after position for Silverquill graduates, are the supreme arbiters of the cosmos and enforcers of all magical contracts on Arcavios. [6] Colors Dichotomy [ | ] If you are trying to focus on Group Hug and/or Pillowfort, you don’t really need to include any of the cards that have to do with +1/+1 counters. Similarly, Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, Magister of Worth, Bloodthirsty Blade, and the Vows and Curses can all go. These are cool cards, but they don’t really work very well with Group Hug. 2. +1/+1 Counters (5-8) Graveyard Recursion.Again, very thematic stuff here, but a mixed bag. I think Incarnation Technique is very solid, as is Infernal Offering. Magister of Worth? Not so much.Inkshield is such a trap card. 5 cmc that relies on your opponent going all in is suspect. Why not play teferi's protection which it does so much and it protects everything you have? graveyard recursion; Magister of Worth, Angel of Serenity, Incarnation Technique, Infernal Offering, Debtors' Knell If you are on a budget (or if you just want to add more dual lands yet), these lands can offer a similar amount of consistency for a fraction of the cost: Breenais the perfect leader for this Political precon, so we're keeping her in the command zone when we do our upgrades. I think it's important to mention Shadrix as a potential upgrade to Breena. When using Breena, you're entirely at the mercy of the table in terms of whether or not her ability will trigger, even if she can trigger multiple times in a round. If you play the game of politics well, or if your playgroup indulges it, you'll be rewarded handsomely; if you don't politic well, if your group catches on to your plans, or if you end up in a 1v1 scenario, Breena doesn't amount to much more than a measly 1/3 flier.

board wipes; Magister of Worth, Deathbringer Regent, Promise of Loyalty, Tragic Arrogance, ( Gideon, Champion of Justice doesn't really count) Nowthat we have the ratios in mind, let's take a look at the individual cards, highlighting the strongest and weakest in each category. If two or more free draws per turn cycle seems great for a three-mana W/B commander, you’re right! Tymna the Weaver remains one of the strongest options in the color for a reason. Tying this powerful value engine to your opponents’ combat decisions isn’t enough to scupper that potential, but I suspect it will make Breena more polarizing — and this goes for all the other politics-based effects in the precon, too. Explorers of the Deep" Precon Upgrade Guide | Merfolk +1/+1 Counters | Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander,

That's all, folks!

Last but not least, there are a few mechanics in Magic that let each player vote for the outcome of a spell’s ability. There have been a few recommendations in this article that try to take advantage of the political aspects of Commander. Both the reprints and the new cards we’re getting this year seem to be more interesting than what we got in the last few sets of precons. Overall, I think this compensates for the increase in price. Plus people are completely overlooking the fact that Breena is a ridiculous engine for +1/+1 counters. Assuming each player triggering Breena on their turn in a 4-Player FFA game, that's six +1/+1 counters going on to your creatures each turn cycle, which is absolutely ridiculous. The precon doesn't have a lot of counter support -- only a handful of cards like Fain, the Broker, Felisa, Fang of Silverquill, and Elite Scaleguard -- but even so, giving your creatures an extra combined 6 power and toughness each turn cycle is a ton for a three mana commander! and Knight of the White Orchid, Boreas Charger, Fain, the Broker (kinda), Scholarship Sponsor, Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Mind Stone, Orzhov Signet, Pendant of Prosperity, Spectral Searchlight, Victory Chimes, Tempting Contract (sometimes), Coveted Jewel Bladegriff Prototype is an interesting card, since each trigger seems beneficial for the table, while overall, the card heavily benefits you. It will often overstay its welcome and cause some damage.

Board Wipes. Most of the wipes fit the Politics theme, but some are better than others. I like Tragic Arrogance here, even Promise of Loyalty despite not letting you choose who survives. Deathbringer Regent seems just overpriced here to me. targeted removal; Stalking Leonin (kinda), Angel of Serenity, Fracture, Oblation, Utter End, Soul Snare (kinda) Everything except Orzhov Advokist, that is. That one can stay because it adds counters to your creatures. Other than that, you should probably take out Vows and Curses as well for this one. 3. Combat Manipulation (4-7) I heard good things about monarch cards (Court of Grace, Court of ambition.. For example) but I can't really evaluate the benefit as I'm still so new Bold Plagiarist grows big only but it doesn't feel like it matters compared to mana gorger hydra and Taurean mauler which is more flexible and scarier. I know they're in different colors but it doesn't seem like you want to play this card once you know how others are better inclusion. Will always benefit from being 1 cmc cheaper.card draw; Breena, the Demagogue, Keen Duelist, Secret Rendezvous, Ambition's Cost, Stinging Study, Coveted Jewel Cards that were printed in the simultaneously-released Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion, and thus use the Strixhaven expansion symbol, are: Commander 2021 Strixhaven: Silverquill Statement Commander 2021 Strixhaven: Silverquill Statement Commander 2021 Strixhaven: Silverquill Statement Mark Rosewater (April 5, 2021). " In the Strixhaven, Part 2". magicthegathering.com. Wizards of the Coast. I think Felisa should have benefited from tokens dying as well being a 3mc commander. I could be wrong but I can vouch for her being a choice for Silverquill as she can function in every part of the game unlike Breena. Maybe someone has found a way to make her fringe at least.
