About this deal

We continue to revisit our favorite Bible storybooks even as the kids grow (and especially because we have multiple ages in our family), but we transition the kids into a full-text Bible of their own around 6 years old. Sometime between six and eight years old also tends to be the time we begin helping the kids develop their own quiet time, so having their own Bible isn’t only important but exciting too. The Jesus Storybook Bible— For ages 5+ Also, it is important to remember that each of these children’s Bible is someone’s interpretation. I am thankful for these interpretations, however, because they help my little ones yearn to grow closer and know God more from a younger age. They take the Bible and make it accessible and developmentally-appropriate for even the tiniest of children. The Best Children’s Bibles Baby Bible

In my experience, here are three things to look for that really help draw in even the wiggliest of toddlers: These insights from Scripture tell us that God is deeply and intimately involved in our growth and development before as well as after birth. From their earliest moments unborn children are subject to God’s call to be and to become. They respond in precisely one way – they grow and develop. This tells us something very important. God’s call to children is first to grow as human beings. Their growth in the womb and after birth is a response to a continued calling. God calls us to this human development in body, mind and spirit right through our lives, however long or short, until at the end we are called out of life into God’s eternal presence. This means God’s call is just the same and just as relevant if babies have disabilities or if they do not make it to birth. There are no failures because every human person is ‘known’. Every child is precious before God and subject to exactly the same call. We are so blessed to have access to such great resources to help us as parents to train our children up in the ways of the Lord. Whether it be specialty Bibles for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and beyond. These kinds of Bible story books geared specifically towards their age group are a wonderful way to instill God’s Word and truths into their little minds in a fun and engaging way that will help them to grow in love for God and His ways. We have quite a collection of Bible storybooks for little ones, but these are our favorites :: The Tiny Tots Bible– For ages: 0-3We’ve tested out a lot of storybook Bibles and are always on the hunt for more! Since my six year old mainly reads from the actual Bible now, storybook Bibles are generally used for my toddler, so I’m always excited when I find one we love! I’ve read a few kids’ Bibles that never mention sin and others shy away from talking about God’s judgement. This is a huge problem! I also love that the stories are only a few sentences each. Even though you can’t get really in depth with only a few sentences, it’s a good way to introduce your toddler to so many stories from the Bible without risking losing their attention. So this is a great toddler Bible option![sc name=”clearfix”] The Baby Bible Series byRobin Currie

Finally, a little bit of action goes a long way. God created light? Close your eyes tight and then open them wide. Jonah in the belly of the fish? Pretend to swim. Daniel in the lion’s den? Roar! While these aren’t storybook Bibles, they are excellent Bible based books that are perfect for toddlers. Wow! The Good News in Four WordsI also want to note that the reading level of this Bible would have been too much (at 6 years old) for two of my kids. For those two, we choose one of the ICB Bibles listed above. HCSB Kid’s Study Bible— For ages 6+

We believe that children and parents benefit from a strong Christian education program in the church. Every kids church ministry deserves the very best resources for teaching God’s Word, even when they don’t have the financial resources.Today I’m sharing some of our favorite Bible options for kids and families. Bibles for Family Bible Time (Mixed Ages) This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the absolute, without a doubt, best Bible for toddlers… well, the best Bible for any age actually! Luke 18: 15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus We all know that children can blurt out awkward truths at the wrong moment. We are also often guilty of trying to reinterpret and reframe their faith when they talk about God in ways that don’t ‘fit’ with what we like to hear. Yet God’s Spirit emerges in the lives of children in all kinds of ways and we need to discern it. In 2015 the world was horrified at the photograph of a drowned three-year-old child who perished in an attempt by his father to reach Europe via a dangerous sea crossing. We feel instinctively that children above all should have the chance of life and that the death of a child is a particular violation of the way life is supposed to work out. Yet despite all our sophistication, development and technology, we still live in a world where children continue to die needlessly every day through disease, violence, war, poverty or exploitation.

Before I get to the list, let’s first talk a little bit about what you should look for in Bibles for toddlers. There are a lot of options out there, but when you’re shopping for children who are specifically 1-3 years old, here’s some things to look for in a toddler Bible: The other primary reason you want to have a variety of Bibles for toddlers is to help keep them interested in reading their Bible. Young children have extremely short attention spans and get bored easily. And you certainly don’t want your child to get bored of God’s Word! So having a variety of options for their age level will help maintain a feeling of excitement and interest for reading God’s word within your child’s young heart. Toddlers aren’t exactly well known for their ability to handle delicate objects, amiright? #4 Engaging and Toddler Approved!I know, I know – you might be thinking “there’s no way my toddler is listening to the actual Bible.” But here’s the thing, the power is in God’s Word. His actual, real, life giving, Word. It’s important to give your child a taste of the real thing from the very beginning. Each of these do not follow the Bible chronologically but rather use a theme to tie all of the stories together. For example the ABCs one will go A-Z with each story focusing on something that starts with each letter, and so on.
