The main problem presented with the films approach to CGI rendering was a choice by the storyline. Trolls were to extend their hair, split and mould into various shapes. The problem this presented is maintaining a consistency in the bend of the hair as it did these things. In addition, another choice was to make the world out of wooly textures. This provided the tw biggest artistic challenges of the film.

Branch, even though he's gray, tries to sing " True Colors" for Poppy to cheer her up, and also confesses his love for her. Poppy, after regaining her colors and realizing Branch actually cares for her, joins in his song as this makes him happy and he shows his True Colors. As the two dance and sing together, the other Trolls get a sense of renewed hope and regain their colors.
