About this deal

As a guitarist, there’s a lot of effects pedals you could buy, however many purists believe the wah pedal to be one of the most important? Battery life for continuous use: approximately >100 hours with manganese battery (will vary depending on conditions) The V847-C uses a softer material than the rubber feet on previous models. You’ll be able to turn the wah effect on/off more smoothly while you play your guitar. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.

Battery Life for Continuous Use: Approximately >100 hours with manganese battery (will vary depending on conditions) Vox has tweaked the frequency range of the V847-C wah so that it isset lower, with the gain boosted and the Q-value (the sharpness of the wah’s peak) adjusted to deliver a more potent sound with a low centreof gravity. The input impedance has also been adjusted to make the V847-Cwah not only sound more powerful, but also tastefully warmand complementary of any guitar plugged into it! True Bypass Circuitry That’s pretty obvious. You see, a wah-wah isn’t just ‘another guitar FX pedal’. It’s ‘that’ pedal. The one that SCREAMS “Jimi Hendrix”& opens up a whole new envelop of funkish tones. Sounds that were later popularised by the likes of Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards since the late 70s. And that’s why we feel it deserves the title of one of the best wah pedals you can buy. Yes, it’s not Vox or Jim Dunlop, but… it surprised us. So much so that if we were building a pedalboard on a budget, the Vowel would almost certainly be the 1st pedal we’d invest in. Plus, for a cheap wah pedal, it actually feels quite good to play. There is a pretty good connection between you & the pedal. What’s more, for a pedal at this price range, you’d expect it to feel flimsy, but as far as we can tell, it’s pretty well put together. Put it this way, it feels like it’s not just going to fall apart in 5 minutes.Still undecided? Then dive into our guide to the best wah pedals for all types of guitarists now, whether you're a beginner electric guitar player or someone looking to add to their high-end electric guitar setup for a truly pro sound. While carrying on the tradition of VOX wah pedals, the V847-C wah pedal’s numerous customizations make it the perfect modern VOX wah. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

The frequency range of the wah (frequencies in which the wah can be varied) has been set lower, with the gain boosted and the Q-value (the sharpness of the wah’s peak) adjusted to deliver a powerful sound with a low centre of gravity.

Vox V845 Wah Overview

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Now in 2011, over forty years later, the V846 has been reborn as the V846-HW Hand-Wired Wah Wah Pedal. While its classic tone is undeniable, the V846-HW was not created to simply repeat the history of the past, but to write new chapters in the future. As its name implies, the V846 Hand Wired boasts hand-wired turret board construction. But VOX didn’t stop there. Every component, including the inductors, resistors, capacitors, and the potentiometer has been carefully selected for premium fidelity and tone. In fact, a tone-preserving true bypass has been added to the original design. Outside, the die-cast body features a sandblasted exterior with crepe finish. The V846-HW is a perfect combination of VOX's world-famous technology, with classical yet modern specifications, surpassing any previous Wah Wah pedal in history by delivering the purest sound. Come to think of it, a good number of famous guitarists have got to where they are by using very few (& sometimes even no pedals whatsoever. A pedalboard & a wah is not a guarantee of success as a guitarist, although if you ask us, we would say that it makes it a whole lot more likely. The input impedance has been adjusted to make the sound not merely more powerful but also tastefully warm.

The right tone– Tone is everything! That’s 95% of the reason why you expand your setup with a wah in the 1st place – to enhance your tone. So before concluding that pedal X or Y is the best wah pedal for you, be sure to take a listen to how they sound with certain guitars over YouTube. This is especially the case if you’re trying to emulate the sound of a certain guitarist, as some wah pedals can do a lot better job with this than others… Just saying :) While you can buy many good cheap wah pedals, you’d be a fool to buy the first one you come across. Dunlop’s CAE Wah even features both red and yellow fasels. You’ll need to fork out more cash for these particular best wah pedals, but they produce a sweeter, mellower voice than the more aggressive sweep of many modern designs. Investing more cash in a wah opens up additional tonal options. So while basic wahs such as the Electro-Harmonix Wailer Wah don’t have any settings to adjust, more upmarket offerings from Xotic and CAE often feature adjustable frequency ranges and boosts to help tailor the tone to your liking. It’s worth noting that these controls are sometimes found inside the pedal. And it’s that which is why they’re pretty much the perfect starter pedal. Yes – even the best wahs are affordable & do last a considerable amount of time, but (stress on the BUT) it’s the sheer scope for customisation & finding your sound (i.e. the envelope part) which makes them one of the best pedals for newcomers, especially solo guitarists; their distinct ‘Funk-ish’ peak really does add a dimension of depth to your sound.See, this pedal does an awful LOT to earn the title of the best wah. Let’s just say you’ll struggle to find a wah that feels this natural to play. The relationship between your foot and the pedal is really something else – a connection you don’t tend to get with cheap wah pedals!! The Dunlop gives you a great amount of control over your sound.

And thus the Wah pedal was born, and released in 1967 with an image of Clyde McCoy on the bottom of the pedal. At the time Vox’s US distributor, Continental Organ Company, was into Big Band music and thought the Wah might work better if marketed for woodwind instruments, which was why Clyde McCoy, a famous jazz trumpeter, was used for the marketing of the new pedal.

Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty True bypass circuitry is becoming a standard feature among today's pedals, which is why Vox has integrated this into the design ofits V847-C wah pedal. Thismeans that your guitar'ssignal does not pass through the circuit when the unit is switched off, ensuring that its tonal character is unaffected and not subject to colouration. Made in Japan And what with Nile being one of the most successful music producers to date, with his funkish wah-like tones being (a large part of) the reason behind his success, it’s hardly surprising that wah-wah pedals are so popular. Team that with all the other famous faces who’re said to incessantly use a wah – Kirk Hammett, Tom Morello & Eric Clapton etc. –& it’s easy to understand why the best wah pedals are highly sought after.
