About this deal

Whenever a “tech guy” does dramatic computer stuff on a TV show, they always seem to be surrounded by triple monitors that just float in mid-air. If you want to bring that energy to your real-life workstation, you’ll want to use a monitor stand to mount your displays to a set of adjustable arms that connect to your desk or the wall behind it. Making the jump to three monitors is a serious move, but having one of the best triple-monitor stands to hold them up will make you feel like a Hollywood-style computer whiz (and there are actual real-world benefits, too).

Once your monitors are loaded on the crossbar, you’re afforded enormous amounts of mobility to customize viewing angle, including 30” vertical adjustments, 25° tilt functions either way and a 360° swivel. This highly tweakable design makes handling three monitors no more difficult than one and ensures comfortability no matter what you’re viewing needs are. Long warranty: Monitor arm technology isn’t something that will change radically and warrant a replacement every year or two. Instead, you should expect a monitor arm to last many years and adapt to changes such as a new desk or display. It’s furniture. Because of that, we looked at warranty length and customer support to see which companies would stand behind their models and the arms’ expected years of performance while holding up an expensive monitor (or two). Note that monitor arm warranties don’t include damage to the monitor itself. While most mounts are pretty simple, you need to look out for certain things when deciding which one to buy. The Huanuo HNDS12 represents a middle ground for shoppers who want an upgrade in quality but need to respect their budget.

Things To Consider

One of the most appealing benefits of monitor arms is the ergonomic improvement they can offer. If you’re wondering how to best set up your monitor arm, then we suggest using these guidelines developed by Professor Alan Hedge and Cornell University. Grommet mounts insert into the circular cut-outs found on many desks built and sold for corporate offices. A grommet mount is also a form of clamp, but size of the mechanism is different, and the mount attaches the monitor to the interior of the desk instead of an exterior edge.

Your first consideration should be the type of stand you need. There are three main designs: freestanding, grommet-mounted, and clamp-mounted. Monoprice lists the monitor as capable of supporting 20 pounds, but I felt the 32-inch monitor (which weighed 15 pounds) was pushing the Workstream to its limits. Monoprice also skimps on the warranty, offering just one year of coverage. Surprisingly, the Flo has a listed weight limit of 20 pounds and recommends use with monitors weighing at least 7 pounds. Most monitors fit within this range, but some heavier models won’t be compatible with the Flo. Two monitors are always better than one, and the same goes for monitor arms. It’s no surprise, then, that Ergotron’s LX Side-by-Side ranks as our best dual monitor arm. The Ergotron LX Side-by-Side pairs two LX monitor arms together on one mount. The look, feel, and specifications of each arm are close to its standalone sibling.

Best Triple Monitor Stand in 2023

In today’s fast-paced, agile work environment, there’s no time for discomfort. M10, part of Humanscale’s revolutionary new monitor arm line, instantly improves the comfort, health and productivity of any workspace. Built to hold heavier equipment, it's optional strong triple crossbar allows M10 to hold up to three monitors or 21.8 kg (48 lbs.) – all while maintaining a simple and sleek design. Setup is simple. The monitor has an included clamp and grommet mount. Installation is mostly handled with a bundled Allen wrench, though you’ll still need a Philips head screwdriver to attach your monitor to the VESA mount. Most owners will be able to install smaller monitors (24 to 27 inches) alone, but help is recommended for larger displays. The curve also presents some limitations, though: For example, the mount isn’t really made to pair well with individual curved displays, even if they fit the size and weight limits. They also note that an older 27-inch monitor with a large bezel (the outer plastic frame), may cause some issues with fitting the screens.
