The Boss Katana MKII takes all the amazing features from the MKI, and takes it to the next level. Read more… Katana MkII Version 2 BOSS Katana—Sharper Than Ever The output distortion of the Katana not only produces the natural distorted sound but works like a tube amp, the sound becomes richer and breaks up as you crank up the volume. The great thing is that you can work this feature without having to push the volume out too loud by adjusting the variable power control. Contour Settings—Shape your core tone with three different Contour settings, each with four customizable frequency curves to choose from. Plugged in and switched on, the Katana Artist sounds come over as real, with excellent dynamic response and plenty of punch from the superb British-voiced Waza Craft loudspeaker, which combines plenty of volume with bright, slightly edgy highs, a woody midrange thump and plenty of bass from the oversized cabinet. This can be emphasised with the Deep cabinet resonance mode engaged, although our preference was for Vintage mode, which would sit in a live band mix better.

The Katana-50MKII may well be the most compact combo, however, the KTN-100MKII, KTN-100/212MKII (offering a warmer, richer and more punch tone than the 1x12), KTN-ARTISTMKII are 100W combos that each have an effects loop (for using pedals directly into the poweramp stage - ie RC Loopers, 200 Series, 500 Series and delays/modulation effects), Stereo Expand for setting up a stereo rig, Record Out/Speaker output simultaneously, presence dial optimising your overall EQ in realtime to suit any musical environment, 8 patch locations and a larger 12" speaker cone giving a richer/fuller tone. Series/parallel effect loop, external speaker outputs, and power amp input for preamps, modelers, and multi-effects Powerful expansion features make it simple to use two Katana-Artist MkIIs together.
