About this deal

In a Grand Tableau that contains four rows of nine cards, you will want to find the two cards that mirror the significator. Precise questions are much better and more clearly answered with 5-card and 9-card readings than the Grand Tableau. The Grand Tableau is a general all-areas reading, with the capacity to further explore whatever life areas you want in depth. It is not helpful for answering yes/no questions. It is helpful for if you want to look at life in general over a long period of time. In my Grand Tableau readings, I usually focus either on the general or on life areas people are interested in rather than on answering specific questions The interpretations for each column in a GT will also move from past influences through the present and to future influences

In a portrait, there are three rows, three columns, and two diagonals. I often use the portraits in my forecasts, like the horoscope readings, the moon readings, and others, if you follow these readings of mine. If you want to see what an actual Grand Tableau reading can look like, take a look at one of my READING SAMPLE GT REPORTS, or at me using a Grand Tableau to predict future events in the UK over the course of a year. Different readers read the GT differently and use different methods. Also, you don’t HAVE to employ every single one of the methods. If you are reading for yourself, you can choose which methods and elements suit your needs best: you can just read around the Querent card, for instance, you can just do an overview of the reading as a whole, or you can do in-depth with Houses, Knighting and so on. 3. Timing. A Grand Tableau is NOT necessarily a predictive reading On constate que les thématiques restent globalement les mêmes quels que soient les sujets. Pour synthétiser:A card “knights” a significator when it creates an L-shape with the significator, the way a knight moves in a game of chess. Knighting is one of the most advanced reading techniques, and it’s typically used to reveal hidden influences. If you’re not familiar with the Grand Tableau, you can take a look here for my overview and follow the step by step instructions on reading a Grand Tableau When you’re starting out with Lenormand, you’re not likely to jump right into the Tableau. You’re best starting out with simple 3-, 5-, and 7-card lines. It’s a good idea to practice them on a daily basis so you build your card-combination skills. In our example above, the Heart mirrored the Rider and the Garden, representing a new love interest at a community gathering.

So, in our example we have the Dog mirroring the Snake (in my notes I use the short form: Dog // Snake). This confirms that the Snake is a person and not a problem or argument about to arise. Next we mirror the Book and Lily (Book // Lily) which says that publishing brings recognition. It also seems to indicate that it may take a while for this success to come as the Lily is normally a slow acting card. It won’t be an overnight success, but it will be successful. Finally, we have the Moon card on it’s own, which speaks again of fame and success. The Sun represents a successful or happy thing. Therefore, the Letter + Sun might mean a successful conversation or even a new publication! Mirroring These are my suggestions. You might have others in mind. If so, please share them with me and others in the comments. It is always so helpful to know how other Lenormand Readers do things. I'm always interested to know how you might bring new things to the table. And tell me if you're aware of Tableau-style layouts and if you knew what that meant. What are the kinds of layouts that you like to use with Lenormand, I would really love to know.Hello, I'm Lozzy, and I'm a huge fan of fortune-telling cards. I started out many years ago using Tarot, but in recent years have been drawn to the more upfront, storytelling nature of the Lenormand, which doesn't have the mythic associations of the Tarot. With Lenormand, what you see is what you get; it's the particular card combinations that give the story of the reading. You can learn more and more about each card using reflection, mirroring and knighting. I'm not used to knighting as of yet but some people do that. I will not explain that here because I do not do it. A Grand Tableau is long, detailed and takes a long time to put together a reading properly. For example, when I am doing a reading, it will take me more than a day to physically complete just one reading and write the report! 2. There is no one ‘fixed’ way to read a Grand Tableau

As above, unless you have specified that you want the whole reading to only cover a future timeframe, the column where your Querent card falls will impact on the timeframe shown by the spread with cards to the left showing the past and cards to the right, the future. Cards that are closest to the Querent are also those life areas which are having the most impact on their life at a given time. In addition, the row that the Querent card falls in represents the general amount of control they have over situations. The Querent card in the top row shows a lot of control over events. A Querent in the bottom row shows that a lot of events and influences happening that are out of their hands. 5. The Cards in A Grand Tableau Tell A Story, Usually From Past To Future In the Piquet configuration, the last 4 cards stand out . They’re literally the bottom line of the reading. And they can be just that: The "bottom line" or the outcome. You might like to look atthis line first, especially if you’ve asked a specific question (as opposed to doing an open-ended reading), as it’s likely to answer it or offer the summary. If it helps, you might like to try this layered approach to build up your card combination and interpretation skills. INTERPRETING THE PORTRAIT

Admittedly, the sheer number of sentences and structures that we can interpret in a Tableau is by itself daunting. The right diagonal represents the possibilities. The upper right diagonal shows conscious opportunities and the bottom diagonal shows the unconscious opportunities. Knighting, where you look at cards in the knight position i.e. 2 cards along and then 1 either side from your querent or any other card you are interested in But there are other layouts that can take on Tableau-style features - meaning having their cards being read as part of different lines. My own Hourglass and Diamond layouts are not rectangular or square, but they have Tableau-style features because their cards can be read as part of different lines in these configurations. You can find out more about these layouts here and here . Dog (loyalty, dedication) + Book (writing, publishing, studying) could describe how this client is actually in a creative writing / publishing project. The Dog + Book are literally saying: “Stay dedicated to your publishing project.”
