About this deal

So, if I understood correctly, all the units in the box contain the same exact sprues I would find in their own boxes, which leads me to a question... What weapons are available in the Venerable Dreadnought box? A trio of Ultramarines Dreadnoughts provide covering fire, including, from left to right, a Castraferrum Dreadnought, a Venerable Dreadnought and an Ironclad Dreadnought. Like all Dreadnoughts, a Wulfen Dreadnought is a veritable mountain of iron and adamantium. But where other Dreadnoughts stomp towards their foe with robotic stiffness, the joints and servos of a Wulfen Dreadnought twitch and spasm like the muscles of a crazed animal. More than ten thousand Terran years have passed since that age of legends, yet Bjorn remains a living link to the Chapter's distant past -- it is little wonder that his counsel is sought by many within the Space Wolves when they gird for war. Despite his extreme age, Bjorn is a steadfast warrior and lumbers into battle entombed within the sacred sarcophagus of his Dreadnought. Venerable Dreadnoughts have fought in thousands of battles over the course of many centuries or even millennia. These Dreadnoughts are the veterans of wars and battles now considered myth and legend by the younger Astartes of their Chapters.

Secarssa - Secarssa, also known as the Bow of Ma'dan, was a Venerable Hellfire Dreadnought of the Mantis Warriors Chapter who was destroyed in combat during the Siege of Endymon Prime at the time of the Badab War. Venerable Dreadnoughts are typically armed in much the same way as are other Dreadnoughts, with a Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon and a long-range weapons arm. To Bjorn's continued frustration, it was to be five long standard years before word of Arvax's location surfaced once more. Russ immediately led his Space Wolves to destroy the foul creature, determined to personally slay the Daemon king himself and avenge those who had died during their last encounter. Yet in this goal, the primarch was to be denied, for Bjorn too sought out his nemesis and, as fate would have it, was the first to face Arvax in battle. In the 41st Millennium there exist few examples of Dreadnought patterns beyond the Castraferrum pattern, with the more advanced Contemptor Pattern Dreadnoughts being an extremely rare sight. Other patterns, such as the Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought and Leviathan Pattern Siege Dreadnought are even rarer, with very few examples known to still exist, only to be unleashed from a Chapter's armoury during the times of greatest desperation. A Hellfire Dreadnought of the Mantis Warriors Chapter armed with a twin-linked Autocannon and a Missile Launcher.Champions of Fenris - A Codex: Space Wolves Supplement (7th Edition), pp. 12, 52-53, 71, 86, 107, 124-125, 134 Leaning forward as it begins to charge, the Wulfen Dreadnought is consumed with a singular, predatory intent, and seeks only to maul and eviscerate the enemies before it. The rampant devastation is accompanied by baleful howling, and the savagery continues until the metallic beast is eventually stared down by their Wolf Lord. Barkus - Barkus was a Venerable Dreadnought of the Ultramarines Space Marine Chapter. Barkus sacrificed himself during the Ork invasion of Espandor in the late 41st Millennium so that the rest of the Ultramarines forces could safely retreat. Rylanor - Rylanor was a Venerable Dreadnought and hero of the Emperor's Children Legion during the Great Crusade. He served as the III Legion's "Ancient of Rites," and had been mortally wounded battling the Aeldari in the late 30th Millennium, solar decades before the outbreak of the Horus Heresy. Following his wounding, Rylanor was interred within the adamantium shell of a Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought. Rylanor was part of the Primarch Fulgrim's Honour Guard by tradition, though he was increasingly troubled by the direction the III Legion moved in after the assault on the xenos world of Laeran. At the last minute, he traded places for the combat drop onto Istvaan III with Captain Saul Tarvitz of the 10 th Company, who was supposed to go instead as one of the Emperor's Children Loyalists marked for betrayal and death. Betrayed unto his own death by the duplicitous actions of the Warmaster Horus, Rylanor rallied the surviving Loyalist Emperor's Children and fought against the Traitors during the Battle of Istvaan III. He survived the battle, and spent the next ten thousand Terran years planning to gain vengeance upon the man he truly blamed for the great betrayal -- his own Primarch, Fulgrim. Though Rylanor's attempt upon the Daemon Primarch's life ultimately failed and finally ended his own long life, it would leave a grim mark upon Fulgrim's soul forever after.

Having earned many millennia worth of combat experience, Venerable Dreadnoughts are even harder to destroy than their younger counterparts. However, as a trade-off for their knowledge, they are armed with older, more volatile and usually less effective weaponry. There are several Castraferrum Dreadnought variants that are used exclusively by certain Chapters, and these Dreadnoughts are used only by these Chapters and any Successor Chapters they may have. The known Chapter-Specific Castraferrum Dreadnought variants are as follows:

Recommended: Movement Trays for 60mm Bases

When a unit disembarks from a TRANSPORT model, set it up on the battlefield so that it is wholly within 3" of that TRANSPORT model and not within Engagement Range of any enemy models. If, for any reason, a disembarking model cannot be set up, that model’s unit cannot disembark. Ancient Kleitor, a Venerable Mars Mark IV Castraferrum Pattern Dreadnought of the Astral Claws Chapter Setting a precedent that still exists to this day, the Wolf-King promoted Bjorn to his personal Wolf Guard, naming him the "Fell-Handed" in honour of his mighty deed. The Skjalds of the Chapter hold that it was the sense of loss and tragedy that Bjorn had already experienced and learned to master that influenced Russ' decision to leave him behind when he set forth on his last, fateful journey into the Eye of Terror. Of all of the primarch's Wolf Guard, he alone had shown such strength of purpose and determination in his darkest hour; he alone would understand the lonely burden of command in the primarch's absence. The Mortis Dreadnought is a variant of the standard Imperial Dreadnought and is most commonly found the armouries of the Dark Angels Chapter and their Unforgiven Successor Chapters. The Mortis Pattern differs from all other Dreadnought variants, except for the Hellfire Dreadnought, that makes use of two long-range weapon arms. These Dreadnoughts make use of two sets of long-range weapons that are always the same, these weapons include sets of twin-linked Lascannons, twin-linked Autocannons, twin-linked Heavy Bolters, or two Missile Launchers. The Mortis Dreadnought is capable of laying down a tremendous amount of firepower upon a target, and since the Dreadnought's body is such a stable firing platform it can continue moving while firing accurately.
