The ending... I'm just going to say it's one of the sweetest I've read. The grand gesture may not be that grand, but it's the right one for them. Just like they've always been right for each other. their parents. I loooove how Gianni’s dad talks to him. I haven’t read all the parent books, but I want to now ❤️ I published THE SPEAK EASY DUET in 2013, and it remains my favorite. In 2014 I switched to contemporary romance with the Frenched Series. By 2019, I moved fully into small town romance have have been there ever since! their was no unnecessary shit stirring between them. whenever they had a falling out, it was for a valid reason. so all the conflicts that arose throughout the book weren’t irritating to read or stifled my enjoyment bcos i understood why things were strained between them. again, bcos their history was laid out amazingly, their present actions were justifiable and easy to understand. their own insecurities and doubts made so much sense to me, so whenever they had issues, i wasn’t mad a all bcos i could see the process of their line of thinking— they were just really well fleshed out characters.

These two best friends had been circling each other for YEARS, ever since their high school years trying to figure out if the other felt differently or if they were just one step away from ruining a perfect just-best-friends relationship, too scare to act on their feelings. The easy friendship between the two was one of my favorite parts of this book, like, even when it involved things the other hated, they were always there, supporting each other. And the chemistry? WOW... does anyone else here love the "practice" scenes in fake dating romances? These two are oscar-worthy with their performances and practices! And then the angst of " am I the only one catching feelings?", " what if I ruin a perfect friendship of years?", " did I imagine all those heated looks, the touches, the tension?", and all the mixed signals when two shy best friends don't want to take the big step that could lead to their HEA or to ruin them forever. Luna and Hallie. These two won my heart in Ignite and continue to woo me with their antics and words 😅🤣

I loved this billionaire, smalltown, fake fiancé, secret pinning, friends to lovers romance.Her heroines aren’t ridiculous, insufferable dumb bitches… they’re lovable dumb bitches in the same way that your best friend is a dumb bitch.
