About this deal

Belladonna by Adalyn Grace is part romance, part murder mystery, part 1800s society games, and all gothic fantasy. It’s a hard balance to strike, but Grace does a good job knowing when to jump from one moment to another. One of the ways Grace keeps a handle on the many moving parts of her novel is the protagonist, Sigma.

A deliciously dark, magical tale. With heaps of murder, mystery and romance, what's not to love?! Belladonna is a richly imagined web of intrigue, a rich gothic romance, dark and spectacular And then there’s Silas. Dry, funny, strong, and mysterious, Silas helps Sigma in the world of the living as she begins to unravel the intricacies of Lillian’s murder. The banter between the two is a delight to read, and Sigma, who has never spent time around men her age, having awkward moments where she realizes, “Oh, this guy is attractive” at the most inopportune moments was a lot of fun to read. We get to learn more about Silas as the story develops, and I’ll admit that I did not see the twist involving Silas coming. I love a good twist that makes sense as soon as you read it, and Grace delivered here. When Signa accidentally killed her venomous Aunt Magda, she broke the important rule without knowing. Magda was not meant to die at that night so when a life is taken, another must be spared rule saved her cousin Blythe’s life. You are mine. You are mine, Signa Farrow. I will burn this world to cinders before I let anyone take you from me." but the most frustrating was how Adalyn Grace wanted Signa to be a red herring to distract us from it actually being Blythe… but you at least need to WRITE the red herring clues. you need to show us why it could be Signa and Blythe 😭 all i could see in that scene was how everything pointed to Blythe like Signa was not even on my radar.

JadePhoenix13 on Reading The Wheel of Time: Taim Tells Lies and Rand Shares His Plan in Winter’s Heart (Part 3) 3 hours ago PRAISE FOR ADALYN GRACE ** A deliciously deadly gothic romance. Full of poisonous deeds, spectacular secrets, and dark mysteries. Belladonna is a hauntingly atmospheric read, with an absolutely fantastic ending that will leave readers begging for more

Delicious and haunting, Belladonna is the type of story that sinks its teeth into your soul. With addictive, atmospheric prose and an absolutely spellbinding mix of mystery and romance, this is YA fantasy at its finest. It's dark, it's sexy. I cannot recommend it highly enough Orphaned as a baby, nineteen-year-old Signa has been raised by a string of guardians, each more interested in her wealth than her well-being—and each has met an untimely end. Her remaining relatives are the elusive Hawthornes, an eccentric family living at Thorn Grove, an estate both glittering and gloomy. Its patriarch mourns his late wife through wild parties, while his son grapples for control of the family’s waning reputation and his daughter suffers from a mysterious illness. But when their mother’s restless spirit appears claiming she was poisoned, Signa realizes that the family she depends on could be in grave danger, and enlists the help of a surly stable boy to hunt down the killer. Do not change the parts of yourself that you like to make others comfortable. Do not try to mold yourself to fit the standards someone else has set for us.” Its patriarch mourns his late wife through wild parties, while his son grapples for control of the family's waning reputation and his daughter suffers from a mysterious illness. But when their mother's restless spirit appears claiming she was poisoned, Signa realizes that the family she depends on could be in grave danger, and enlists the help of a surly stable boy to hunt down the killer. Signa Farrow has lived nineteen years as an orphan, passed around from guardian to guardian. Each was more interested in her wealth than the last, and each of them met an untimely end. Rumors abound that Signa is cursed, a witch, that she is followed by death… and they’re not exactly wrong. For as long as she can remember, Sigma not only can see Death; she’s unable to die. Sigma fears what this means about her and hates Death for his constant interference in her life.

New in Series

It had been weeks since Signa had seen the reaper. Only a final breath would draw him out from hiding, and he never left empty-handed. At least, that was the way it was supposed to be. But Signa Farrow was a girl who could not die. Foxglove *will* have beautifully designed cases, similar to Belladonna. They're absolutely stunning and I can't wait to share them with you all! I loved the final twist and cliffhanger! I’m absolutely looking forward to read the second book! I had amazing reading time! I feel like I'm being pulled in a thousand directions. I'm tired of people being afraid of me. I'm tired of feeling like I'm not enough. No matter what I do, I'm disappointing someone. But the one I truly feel most disappointed in is myself, because I hate feeling like this, Death. I thought I was done."
