About this deal

And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: and He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither may you go into the village, nor tell [it] to any in the village.”

These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.

As much a star of the movie as Grimaldi himself is the actual house where Danny's carnage is carried out. It's a massive old run down abode that looks as creepy as the man who lives and kills within its walls. It's a completely eerie location and the perfect setting for a horror movie of this type. Also worth noting are the special effects, particularly the dried out and burnt up corpses that Danny is so keen on. For a low budget movie, they certainly look realistic enough, adding to the weird, dingy, sleazy atmosphere that makes the movie as effective as it is. And he sent him to his house and he said, “Do not enter the town, neither tell anyone in the town.” On that day, let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve his possessions. Likewise, let no one in the return for anything he has left behind.

Both come with improved picture quality. I’m not sure if this actually helps, though. Then we have a selection of trailers from other films distributed by Arrowdrome, including The Funhouse and Dawn of the Dead. After the misleading trailer for Don’t Go Into The House, I’m increasingly wary of how good these films look as a result. Wilson, Dave (October 2016). "Retrospective: Don't Go in the House (1980) - Ignore the Warning and Go In - Dread Central". Dread Central.com. Dave J. Wilson . Retrieved 30 September 2019. Probably one of the better known Video Nasties, Don’t Go In The House is the first (alphabetically) in a line of “Don’t” warnings on the list. The film was first released in UK cinemas in 1980 after heavy cuts from the BBFC, and this version was released by Arcade Video in 1982. Later Arcade Video released the uncut version for home video, and this was added to the Video Nasties list in July 1983. The film was soon removed from the list, and re-released on the promise that only the BBFC cut version be sold. The film was once again re-released in 1987 with 3:05 seconds of cuts, and eventually released completely uncut by Arrow this year for the DVD & Blu-ray release. Filmed in the historic Strauss Mansion in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey from February-March 1979, Don't Go in the House was released one year later in the spring of 1980, and was met with sharp criticism from film critics due to its graphic depictions of violence, particularly a sequence in which the protagonist burns a nude woman alive with a flamethrower. Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them: “Do not go among the Gentiles, and do not go into a city of the Samaritans; The film doesn’t follow a victim. It doesn’t have a final girl. Instead, we begin with Donny Kohler (Dan Grimaldi), a man in his mid thirties who works at the local incinerator facility, burning trash. Straight away we see that Donny’s isn’t your typical guy; when an accident results in a coworker being engulfed in fire Donny watches on, mesmerised rather than helping.
