Sunscreens that offer both UVA and UVB protection are sometimes called broad spectrum. How to apply sunscreen
Gone are the days when sun creams were unpleasant to use, now you can find plenty of incredible sunscreens that are easy to apply, won't leave you shiny or with a white cast and allow you to properly enjoy the sunshine with no burns. Always make sure to look for a suncream that is "broad spectrum", meaning there's protection from both UVA and UVB rays, to prevent ageing wrinkles, dark spots and pigmentation, as well as more serious health issues. UVAs are skin-damaging long waves that can penetrate through the hypodermis tissue, while UVBs are short waves that cause redness and burns, which can lead to skin cancer. Painkillers, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen, will ease the pain by helping to reduce inflammation caused by sunburn.
