About this deal

The Vista, Tarah and Tarah Pro offer the same waterproofing as the Vista 2, just without the dust resistance.

Activate ‘Find my buds’–Being able to ping each earbud and the charging case independently is awesome if you ever lose an earbud or the entire charge case and need to find it. Not only can you make the earbuds play a loud noise to help you locate them but you can also see their location on the map within the app. The Jaybird Vista 2 aren't tiny but comparatively smaller than earhook-style headphones such as the Beats Powerbeats Pro. They weigh a mere 6 grams (or 0.2 oz, per bud). In terms of design, the Vista 2 looks and feels very similar to its predecessor, with the main difference being the material covering the buds: the Vista 2 sports a fabric-like, textured cover instead of the Vista's full-plastic design. When you have a pair of wireless buds that are brimming with great features, they can quite often let you down sonically. With this in mind, all the while knowing how small and lightweight the Vista earphones are, we weren’t expecting these buds to deliver the best in terms of audio performance. Battery life on the Vista is reasonably good. The six hour quoted live for the buds rang true during testing and is above average for a true wireless set. But the case’s 10 hour life is a little on the short side and means you’ll only get one full charge out of it before you need to reconnect it to the mains. Active noise cancelling (ANC) will come in extra handy when using the Vista 2 in the gym – sound isolation is okay, thanks to the combination of passive and active noise cancelling, but, sadly, it can't be customised (make it less/more prominent). However, SurroundSound can be adjusted (low/normal/high), and there is even a slider that lets you tweak how much sound the buds let in.You won’t find some noise-cancelling or ambient sound features here, like the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, which uses external microphones to play outside noise inside the drivers, keeping you more in tune to your surroundings. We’re told that Jaybird wouldn’t have been able to keep the dimensions down if it included these kinds of features, which holds true when we consider the bulkier earbuds of those other models. Our verdict All Garmin watches with music support work the same way in this manner, and this then lets me listen to music without a phone nearby. So in my case, that was primarily Spotify:

Touch Response Functions: Control music, ANC control (on, off, SurroundSense mode), Receive / end calls, Volume up and down The Jabra Elite 7 Active buds are a significant update over the Jabra Elite Active 75t and offer more personalised sound and ANC, better fit via the ShakeGrip coating and even improved call performance thanks to the three-microphone-per-bud setup. If you aren't too keen on wing tips/ear hooks, the Elite 7 Active are your best option for running headphones. I also noticed during the initial setup process that pairing the Jaybird Vista 2 to my iPhone 12 Pro was much faster than previous generation Jaybird headphones. To pair the Jaybird wireless bluetooth earbuds to your phone, place the earbuds in the charging case and tap the small button inside. This process is so much easier and faster than it used to be.

How do Jaybird’s true wireless earbuds stack up against the competition?

It’s about two years that I’m using the Jbird Vista with my Garmin Forerunner 945. For the first year everything was good and I had zero disconnection, like you describe. But it’s about 5–6 months that I can’t use them anymore with the Garmin FR945. I have continuous dropouts. The Garmin forum of the Forerunner 945 is full of threads about Garmin and the Jbird Vista and this problem. Garmin admitted that there is a problem, but it’s not able to fix it. In the meanwhile, the Jbird Vista funtioned perfectly fine with my phone, my computer and my TV. So it’s only a Garmin-Jbird Vista problem. They don’t go very loud, so if you’re hoping to completely drown out the outside world, these aren’t the earbuds for it. Nonetheless, the firm fit provides great sound isolation, and the Vista earbuds manage to hold the audio detail together right up the loudest it can go. Jaybird almost completely overhauled the Vista the second time around, making it even more durable than before. In fact, the Jaybird Vista 2 are the most resilient true wireless sports headphones on the market with their IP68 rating (the Vista was 'only' IPX7). control buttons on full wireless models usually require pressure to activate the button which jams the headphone deeper into your ear or use too-sensitive touch controls, while the wired between the ears models have a control box that doesn’t need to be jammed into the ear. These sorts of certifications are often used in marketing (as is exactly the case here). But at the same time, passing even the bulk of these types of certifications requirements means enough engineering to not kill the device through any given test. And more importantly, these tend to have surprisingly similar overlap to sports, especially endurance sports. They sound great and we like that you can customize your experience with an EQ built into the app, which allows you to adjust the sound of the Jaybird Vista 2 as much as you please. In any event, here’s what’s new on the Jaybird Vista 2, compared to the original Vista from two years ago. One of our favourite design features in the Vista earbuds, however, is their impressive IPX7 water resistance, which not only makes them super-rugged but will see them survive a drop in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes. This doesn’t mean they’re suitable for swimming but it is a worthwhile feature for the accident-prone or those crazy people who like to exercise in the rain. Today Jaybird announced their new Vista 2 earbuds, which add a host of new features, including many aimed at the endurance sports crowd. From increased waterproofing and even military-spec resistance levels, to SurroundSense noise pass-through, better wind cancellation, rapid charging, and more. In theory, these new features would make it more appealing to athletes, including their sponsored cycling teams like L39ION, who they added today (and is also sponsored by Zwift for indoor training).
