The rest of the camera world will certainly take a while to catch up, and it won’t be extremely practical to shoot 12K footage on a larger scale for quite some time. It’s just super cool to me, though. If you want to shoot 12K footage, you can.

The screen displays the wattage, a puff counter, a battery meter, resistance, and a puff timer. There are no modes or menus on this device. There are better pod kits out there for flavour and MTL replication in all honesty but that doesn’t make it any less desirable for the newbie taking their very first vaping steps. At the time of writing I could find no indication of a TPD issue but as we all know, other than a 2ml pod everything else will be identical. For best results, you should shoot at base ISO of 800 or under and expose to the right to allow lots of light in. Then the 12K camera gives not only incredible resolution but a dynamic range of 14 stops, with colours that are very filmic once the Raw files are processed. The 12-bit Raw files mean you can change ISO, white balance, sharpening and colours as much as you like to colour correct and grade properly. Some highlight recovery is needed, as it is definitely best to over expose and recover detail rather than under-expose which reveals shadow noise. Going up from ISO 800 reveals some noise which can be reduced in post production.

Design and Build Quality

Fast Type C USB charging ensures that waiting time between a spent and fully charged battery is kept to a minimum. It doesn’t matter how you snap the pod into position either thanks to the 360 degree magnetic ring inside the battery. It was a balanced flavour experience where all sub notes combined and harmonised in the way the creators had intended. I wasn’t super impressed by the MTL coil. Why? I just felt it was delivering too much of a wet taste. For the purposes of testing I used Riot Squad Fresh Blueberry, a 50VG/50PG blend– it’s a mix of freebase and nic salt.

The Super 35 sensor has 14 stops of dynamic range and a native ISO of 800. The new 12K sensor has equal amounts of red, green and blue pixels and is optimized for images at multiple resolutions. The internal 1500mAh battery lasted for 15 hours while using the MTL coil during which time I vaped around 6ml of E juice. The puff counter registered 385 hits. Relatively speaking, the Lost Vape Ursa Mini Pod Kit is quite compact and lightweight which makes it a discreet and highly portable device. Personally, I find this 20-30 watt range kind of a no man’s land, as it’s too high for using strong nic salts and too low for using standard juice. So, I usually test both. I filled a tank with 24 mg nic salts at 18 watts and it was meh. Then I switched to a more DL setup and found it best around 21 watts using 70/30 3 mg juice. Flavor was still meh at best and it only lasted about 20 mL.

Build quality and design

I set the power to 25W and with the airflow wide open. The first thing I noticed was the reduced speed of ramp up from the coil. It was no where near as feisty as its MTL counterpart. For coil performance, I started with the 1.0-ohm coil and found it best at around 11 watts. The flavor was really good, and while I expected to go through about 10-15 mL of juice before it died, I was able to get double that with 30 mL. So it had a really good flavor and life.
