About this deal

There’s a standard floor head with brush for agitating dirt, but it’s not an anti-tangle head, so it will need some maintenance. Otherwise, in the box, you get a crevice tool and a brush, but no mini motorised tool. Those with pets may be better looking elsewhere. Cordless vacuum cleaners are the easiest way to keep your home clean, giving you grab and go portability without having to faff around with plugs. Thanks to recent advances in technology, cordless cleaners now come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, designed to suit all kinds of users and jobs. With the power and battery life on offer, you can even buy models suitable for whole home cleaning, so that you don’t even need a traditional plug-in vacuum cleaner any more. The Halo Capsule also uses a different design to most other cordless vacuum cleaners. Rather than a ‘gun’ shape where you squeeze a trigger, the capsule is a lozenge that you hold at the end. It’s a large and very comfortable handle that gives you plenty of grip. Plus, at just 2.6kg, this is one of the lightest cordless vacuum cleaners, particularly when you factor in its large bin. To keep the price tag low, Shark's vacuums are not as sleek and stylish as Dyson’s, and they're often heavier, too. While they come with useful technology such as the ability to stop hair getting tangled around the brush air, and flexible wands to ensure you can clean in hard-to-reach places, they're not as high-tech as Dyson's offering.Dyson's vacuums tend to have longer-lasting batteries than Shark's models too. So we understand like EVERY vacuum cleaner brand (ever) says their products have great suction. But its really true that the Lupe Pure Cordless has an edge- and we can prove it. The test results by independent vacuum cleaner reviewer 'Vacuum Wars' says it all. Lupe had the highest results across dozens of machines, including corded ones.

A smaller body means that there’s only a 0.35-litre bin, although that should last for a standard clean. We found that automatic mode gave us around 25-minutes of cleaning time. Given the high levels of suction available (it tops out at plug-in level of power at 204AW in our tests), and the quality of the floor heads, those 25-minutes are enough to clean a small house or average-sized flat in one go. Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of cordless cleaners that don't clean well or retain allergens effectively. We've found so many really poor models in our tests that we have a long list of Don't Buy cordless vacuums to avoid.

There’s no trigger to hold in, with a power button to turn the vacuum on and off, and a mode selector button (Eco, Performance and Boost). Plus, you can turn the motorised brush off, which helps on hard floors: with bigger debris, turning of the brush stopped dirt being flung around in our tests. I would give this zero stars if I could. Same problem as many have already stated - suction is extremely poor and certainly not fit for purpose.

We know the Pure Cordless isn’t cheap. That’s because it’s built for a purpose, not to a price. In a category that wants to sell you The Next Big Thing every other season, the Pure Cordless is unfashionably long lasting. The Pure Cordless Vacuum cleaner is proud to be durable with easily replaceable parts and every feature to the highest possible specification for long-lasting ownership. There’s no continuous power button, so you do have to keep your finger on the trigger throughout use, and it can be bulky to move around, especially when used as a handheld. You’ll also have to use it on eco mode to vacuum long pile carpet, as its high power can make it hard to manoeuvre. The Samsung Bespoke Jet is a serious rival to the Dyson V15 Detect. It doesn't have the laser on the floorhead to reveal hidden dust and it has a smaller bin size, it's very capable and easy to store. A digital display will update you on battery life, which proved to be accurate, and on eco mode it lasted for just over an hour. Using a range of settings, it lasted for 34 minutes. It also comes with two batteries, but note that they take over four hours to charge. In our tests its powerful suction meant it collected discarded biscuit crumbs, ground-in dirt, and even cereal and cat biscuitswith ease. The floorhead also automatically detects the change in floor types, and the three power settings are useful if you either want to deep clean a large pile rug or to lightly skim across the surface of hard floor.Battery life is around 30 minutes on medium power, which should see you get through most of a house clean, given the power on offer. There’s a removable battery, so technically you could buy a second one if you wanted to extend run time. Swappable batteries Some cordless models have a spare battery included that you can swap over if you run out of juice. This cordless vacuum cleaner from Vax gets our vote for use inside the home and outside in the car. It comes with a suite of attachments and has an impressive battery life of up to 90 minutes, meaning that even if you have parked down the road you'll have plenty of juice to see you through the clean. The Omni-glide can lie flat on the floor so it can be easily maneuvered under low-lying furniture, while four 360-degree castors on the bottom of the cleaning head ensure the vacuum can be steered in any direction. It can even lieflat.
