About this deal

You really can’t mess these up since the color is very minimal and ultimately washes out, and it’s a product that pretty much anyone could use. “Anyone who would like to add shine, enhance their existing color, or cool down yellow or brassy tones can benefit from using a color-depositing conditioner,” says colorist Giselle Luza, founder of Giselle Luza Studio. The point is, they work to combat brassiness in your blonde highlights, enhance your brunette base, or revive your all-over red. Plus, a color-depositing conditioner is also great for experimentation if you want to try a tone without committing to permanent dye. And yes, you use them exactly as you would any other conditioner, simply letting the formula sit on the hair for a few minutes longer to reap the benefits. Swap one out for your usual conditioner a few times per week, or use it whenever your hue needs a little help.

So, the first thing I noticed here is that this is a much better conditioner than the old Colour Effects, which was actually pretty useless as a conditioner: I loved it for its colour-depositing properties, but would always have to use a separate conditioner afterwards, whereas this product does it all in one. In this respect, I’d say it’s much more like the old John Frieda Colour Glaze (which was also discontinued in red, much to my disappointment) than Colour Effects, and this is a very good thing indeed. After using it, my hair felt in much better condition than it usually does, and it was easier to detangle, too. From day one, we have always strived to develop high-performance, vegan and sustainable haircare. Our vegan shampoo and conditioner ranges allow you to look and feel good knowing that they are also 100% cruelty free and not tested on animals. A Colour-Depositing Conditioner for Red Hair (and other colours, too!) For the past couple of years, I’ve been regularly singing the praises of Superdrug’s Colour Effects wash-in conditioning colour. Great on coloured hair, makes my hair really nice, healthy and soft. Also it keeps the colour vibrant! I use it as my normal conditioner and wash my hair every 2-3 days.
