About this deal

He is also fond of cats and endlessly baffled by humanity. Soon Death is yearning to experience what humanity really has to offer, but to do that, he'll need to hire some help.

Large colourful jigsaw - 1000 pieces (well 999 as unfortunately one is missing). Shows the Josh Kirby Artwork from the Original 1st edition. Nice, short histories of Pratchett & Kirby on the rear of the box. A little clear tape on box, otherwise VG+. The being turns out to be Death and he takes Mort home and has Mort helping the butler around the house and keeping Death's adopted daughter company. After the film The Princess and the Frog, Disney animators John Musker and Ron Clements planned that their next project would be an animated film version of Mort, but their failure to obtain the film rights prevented them from continuing with the project. [6] Reception [ edit ] Omar Rayyan, a long-time fan of the Discworld series, has provided 7 colour illustrations that capture the humour and vibrancy of Pratchett’s remarkable creation. This beautiful collector’s edition features printed endpapers illustrated by the artist, a slipcase printed with a silver line drawing, and a cover bound in tactile velveteen cloth, with an illustrated inset paper label. The spine sports a tiny silver A’Tuin, the great disc-carrying turtle – truly an edition fit for the Unseen University’s very own library.

On occasion Death takes Mort with him and then allows Mort to go out on his own, while Death takes a bit of time off discovering life..... The novel has been adapted by Robin Brooks for BBC Radio Four. Narrated by Anton Lesser, with Geoffrey Whitehead as Death, Carl Prekopp as Mort, Clare Corbett as Ysabell and Alice Hart as Princess Keli, the programme was first broadcast in four parts in mid-2004 and has been repeated frequently, most recently on Radio 4 Extra. [3] Mort doesn't have many prospects in his home village, and he really isn't cut out for the family business--he's not nearly serious enough. So at Hogswatch, Mort's father takes him to a hiring fair in the nearby town, where Mort proceeds to wait the whole day while every other person at the fair gets taken in by somebody. It's looking like Mort just won't be hired at all, but right before midnight Death rides up and offers Mort an apprenticeship. Death assures Mort that no, the bones are not required, and Mort accepts the offer. It’s an offer Mort can’t refuse. As Death’s apprentice he’ll have free board, use of the company horse – and being dead isn’t compulsory. It’s a dream job – until Mort falls in love with Death’s daughter, Ysabell, and discovers that your boss can be a killer on your love life . . .Peter Benchley’s Jaws is the ultimate pulp thriller, and this is the ultimate illustrated edition. Folio commissioned Hokyoung Kim for the artwork, while the late author’s wife, Wendy Benchley, provides a fascinating new introduction.
