Scent: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud is a fantastic fragrance with a smooth and refined scent of oud. This fragrance opens with a warm scent of saffron and oud, immediately setting the tone for this fragrance. The oud is rich, warm, and dark, but also smooth and refined, making it extremely pleasant. The saffron is warm and spicy and even a little sweet, making the fragrance a bit more interesting. As this fragrance starts to dry down, some woody notes start to appear, serving as a nice base for the oud to thrive on. Overall, this is an amazing fragrance with a lovely scent of oud. Unlike other perfume companies, who keep their perfumers anonymous, Malle gives them full credit for their creations by placing the perfumers’ names on the bottles and boxes. It’s deep, it’s warm, it’s sensual, and it’s mysterious. It gives off a dark, smoky, spicy, jammy-syrupy vibe. Nice.
Wear it for a date and appear as sweet and sultry without trying so hard. Unlike other perfumes out there, Oud and Roses doesn’t steal the spotlight from you. Rather, it complements who you really are. Its vibrant yet gentle mix of oud and rose notes is symbolic of your multifaceted personality. TOP NOTESThis is an absolute masterpiece and if you can pull it off, you won’t be disappointed. Let me break it down for you… Don’t be put off by the name of this fragrance. To be honest, some traditional oud fragrances can be very off-putting and in-your-face. However, this is NOT one of those. Sweet resins of benzoin, tolu and peru provide caramellic and resinous depth, sweetness and warmth. Almond top note with peach and jasmine petals. Please don’t judge this fragrance by the initial strong opening. Be patient and wait until it dries down — for the magic to happen. 🙂 Stay with me… Praline & Vanilla Notes: The top note of Tom Ford Tobacco Oud is whiskey. The middle notes are coriander, cinnamon, and spices. The base notes are benzoin, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood, cedar, tobacco, incense, and oud.

Shortly after the opening, the floral become more pronounced, especially the note of rose, giving the fragrance a fresh and luxurious feel. As this fragrance starts to dry down, a dark, yet subtle scent of oud starts to appear. The oud isn’t really the star in this fragrance, but it does give it a darker feel. And when this dries down… a patchouli, vanilla and oud combo join the party… to give it a delicious dark chocolatey vibe. Nice. When it starts to settle, you get a slightly cold metallic vibe, mixed with some pepper and honey. This gives the rose a deep, dark, spicy, sweet jammy quality. Nice. Rich & Luxurious This is mega long lasting, and pushes out for the first 3-4 hours — so be careful with your application. 🙂

The note of oud is one of the most complex fragrance notes, able to provide you with a rich, heavy, and dark scent. And apparently… 7 different types of roses have been masterfully blended into this beauty.
