Regarding the area, the tent offers 118 ft² (11 m²) of the floored area. The inner sleeping rooms have 5.9 m² and the front living room 5.1 m². This is the same area as in their Coleman Spruce Falls 4 Person Family Tent that is also dark-rest type, but it is an extended dome. Also, this inner area is the same as in the Eurohike Genus 400 Air Tent. The first thing that jumped out at me when I first saw this tent were the colours of the fabrics, certainly a big step away from the traditional Coleman Green. There’s nothing wrong with that colour, just that the Meadowood and other tents in this range (Castle Pines etc.) were so different, such fresh and light/bright feeling colours that they really got our attention. I would suggest that with this configuration there’s enough room for some furniture (table, lamp etc.) if that’s your bag. This space swallowed up our large double Self Inflating Mat (SIM) and super large/comfy double sleeping bag. The Coleman Meadowood Air 4 has a lovely sized large front door, making access super easy as well as letting in lots of coolness in during the hot weather. Also, at the front door the lip part of that sewn-in groundsheet unzips and folds flat to make easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs etc., a really thoughtful design feature. The tent is not freestanding, so it is necessary to stake it down first before inflating the beams. Note also that it is very tall, you have stand-up height almost everywhere, the peak height is 78.74 inches (200 cm).

Zombie movies are one of the most iconic staples of the horror genre, there are plenty of good ones but a whole host that should've stayed dead.Built-in porches like this are perfect for family camping. They provide a wet-dry zone. This is an area of the tent you can leave wet coats and muddy boots, leaving the inner sanctum of the tent warm and dry. On this trip, we took the bedroom divider down and had ourselves one lovely (cool and dark) sleeping space with plenty of room for our clothes and bags. Porches like this are also a great place to sit out of the breeze, sit if it rains, and great storage to bring chairs and toys into at night. As for space, you’ll see from many of the photos, we had furniture inside the Meadowood 4 with plenty of room to spare. A couple of big comfy camping chairs, foot stool and a table make this a great place to relax and read a book, watch a movie etc. and those colours we mentioned help make this feel like an airy and refreshing living space. This feature-rich Meadowood 4 Air tent is a tunnel-type construction supported by 3 inflatable beams instead of classic poles. So this is a sort of fast pitch system but different from the system of the same name that they use in some other tents with classic poles. Coleman say that the Meadowood 4 Air can be pitched by one person in 10 minutes, and we can confirm that you be our findings. Most importantly, it was very easily pitched without any rush or stress. A very important part of your camping trip I am sure you will agree. And while talking of doors, all the doors into the inner part of the tent have a bug-free mesh that can be zipped into place, allowing you to get a fresh breeze into the tent on warm summer days, but keep the flies out.But you also have an advanced air beam technology, so if you do not want to deal with classic solid poles, you have a suitable tent here. The waterproof rating is impressive and in this tent you have full protection from the elements. I have included it in my list of best family camping tents for 4 people. Fully recommended. For protection against the elements, you have a fully taped polyester flysheet and sewn-in PE groundsheet. The larger 4L and 6L Meadowoods include storm straps for extra support, but you won't find them on the 4.Mesh pole casings provide less wind resistance and allow the structure to flex as needed in the wind. Additional features include zipped cable entry points allowing access for powered accessories together multiple lantern attachment points. Ample ventilation is provided at the side and rear of the tent via a full width aperture to reduce condensation.

Off Grid Power & Living

So this Coleman Tent Meadowood Air 4 Person is indeed nicely built and with quite a number of useful features, to mention its dark rest design as one of them. All the tent poles slot together and are colour coded. Once you've pegged out the corners of the tent, insert the poles into the sleeves of the tent that match the colour of the poles, and then the tent will take shape. Heavy rain is no match for the polyester flysheet (Coleman's 75-Denier fabric) which has a hydrostatic head of 4000mm as well as fully taped seams, this combined with the tough, integrated polyethylene groundsheet ensures a dry and bug-free interior. The flysheet is also treated with Coleman’s UVGuard™ providing SPF 50 protection from the sun’s rays.

As the title suggests, the Meadowood 4 does have room for sleeping 4 people. Sleeping in 2 rooms, equally split, the dividing wall can be removed to make a bigger single sleeping area. My only (small) criticism is that I would love tent brands (not just Coleman) to design their bedroom pods so that dividing walls can be repositioned and not just taken down. Making this tent sleep 3 with a divider that could give a 70/30 split would be a handy feature and ideal for parents with 1 child who wants their own room/space. The tent has plenty of wall pouches to store your small items, they are in between the inner doors, see the picture below. The canopy at the front is 130 cm deep; big enough to keep the entrance dry and store things you don’t want to keep in the tent, such as a garbage can Sleeping area The living space in this tent is ideal for weekend camping. It provides plenty of space for bags, small camping furniture, and space to prepare the kids. There’s a good sized, zipped electricity access point for getting power into the tent if you have an electric hookup (EHU).There is a ventilation opening in the upper centre that cannot be closed. We were not bothered by this, despite the storm at night. The upper part of the doors of the sleeping area can be opened for ventilation, the lower part will still remain cool and dark.
