He explained to Chris: “I think for kids, it’s a gift to read a diary because when they read stories that are in the third person, brilliant as they are- it costs a kid a lot to read a book. You always have to remember that when you’re writing for children, it costs them to read. So, you want to write something that they’re going to absolutely love, and they’re going to find funny, and they’re going to find moving and then they’re going to get a lot out of the story.” Night Mayor Franklefink has vanished from the Transylvanian Express - and it's up to you to solve the case! Oscar is Plum’s toy lemur. Father Christmas gave him to her when she was a baby, and he goes everywhere with her. Bubbles with warmth and mischievous humour . . . irresistible' Alexander Armstrong on The Night I Met Father Christmas Oh, and just in case it’s a human reading this (it’s always possible): elves live ten times as long as humans. So one hundred and sixty to us is like sixteen to you. A hilarious Christmas caper and the must-have festive gift, from bestselling author, Ben Miller.I like that chapter 47 (14 december) Tog remember that when he met Santa in his lodge he didn't have a tattoo so the Santa he met when he went to the Christmas place was a fake. Tog later finds out on his first day of training that the tattoo is a prison tattoo and started to wonder has Santa been to prison. I like that this is light hearted. One thing that makes this book special is the illustrations and who detailed they are but yet so simple. I also like the little description/quote underneath the illustrations. Diary of a Christmas Elf is a charmingly hilarious story of Tog, an apprentice elf. Being selected by Santa isn't quite what Tog had dreamed of and it doesn't take long before he is relegated to cleaning out the reindeer stables. Tog finds himself being accused of a terrible Christmas crime and embarks on an adventure to discover the true culprit of the stolen Christmas presents.

After securing a publishing deal, Ben went on to write four more Christmas books, and his latest story, which follows the adventures of Tog the Christmas elf, came out just last week. A funny and heartwarming story from the King of Christmas, Ben Miller – the perfect sized gift for all the family! With clues throughout, readers will spot trouble brewing - missing toys! I expect they will become quite invested in Tog's story of saving the day and hopefully getting his dream job at the same time. There's even a girl-elf called Holly in the mix. When Tog got to Santa's christmas lodge he met Holly and her nine older brother and seven older sister ,Mrs christmas called Gerda and Max.

I like that you get to meet and understand who Tog is before actually understanding what is going on and how Tog hoped to be a christmas elf but he is an hundred and sixty year old (sixteen to humans) unemployed elf. Now, I know what you’re all wondering,’ Father Christmas continued. ‘Who can it be? Who is my Christmas Elf of the Year?’ De aici incepe adevarata aventura in care Tog si Holly, fata lui Mos Craciun ajung sa salveze Craciunul in ultimul moment. I like that Steinar has apology to Tog after saying he had no christmas spirit but in actually fact his spirit is so high it is off the scale, because of Santa loving the lemur Tog has became a toymaking elf.

He said: “It’s like an advent calendar in the way that it’s designed to be read. So, the idea is the diary starts sort of roughly now and runs up to Christmas day.” Everything you could hope for in a silly season read. Plenty of elves, plenty of magic and a whole lot of fun! There were also some really beautiful themes along the way about fitting in when you are the 'outcast.' All I have to do is walk my brothers and sisters to school, clean the house, buy the food for supper, cook it, walk them home, help them with their homework and get them ready for bed. And I can’t even do that right. A gorgeous tale brimming with the magic of Christmas. A sheer delight for all kids both big AND small' Ruth Jones When Father Christmas gets ill, Holly worries things won’t be finished in time for Christmas, so she decides to invent a robot to help with the festive duties. It sounds like a great idea, until Father Christmas is kidnapped, and Holly, Tog and her robot friend find themselves in a race against time to save the big day yet again.
