Additionally, I look for fastening ability, and paint performance in the material to use for a garage door jamb. re-shingle the house (the previous owner redid the front porch garage shingles before we took possession of the house and now we have two tone shingles!) Great advice! I absolutely hate prominent garage doors, and it’s the rare garage door that’s not prominent. Our prior garage door was painted to match the trim color, when I replaced the door I got one that blended with the house color. Somehow I just knew it would look better.
