Piper Egan landed her dream job straight out of college—working at Empire Records. But instead of discovering new talent and changing lives, like she’d hoped, her time is spent taking meeting notes and catering to spoiled celebrities. When the chance to change that finally appears, she should be thrilled. This is an excellent novel for people who love to read because it has done an amazing job. The author expressed all the characters in a unique way that creates the impression that the reader is also part of the story and knows every detail of all the characters. This would truly be one of the most extraordinary novels. The author has shown great craftsmanship in the novel, this is extraordinary in every sense of the word, only the depth of this book is spectacular, not to mention the diversity and representation and quality of the writing and complex characters. Everything is simply outstanding. The author has shown the same level of skill in previous books such as. I also had a lot of fun getting to know both characters' sets of friends. We don't spend loads of time with each group since our main characters are always sneaking away to see each other, but I appreciated the time we had with them. What particularly peeved me that for all the intensity that the two opposing towns rivalry was depicted as - it only took a public loud drunken break-up, a heated apology, and a begrudging acceptance from Maeve's friends, to see that their rivalry was indeed petty, and that they truly were better off as friends and finding a balance between the two opposing sides. I think I was actually hoping for more drama or action to ensue after their relationship was brought to light - it felt very down-played and low-key, rather than the expectations of fear they had been harboring. Because, once their differences were settled, it mattered very little in the end, because when they do finally interact, it's apparent to everyone involved that there really is nothing that sets them apart from each other. 😔😔 Little boy needed to grovel and grow tf up idc. Does he apologize? Eventually, but personally, it wasn’t enough after what he did and what he said.I've heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. Popular. Conceited. Supercilious. He's spent the last three years steadily dismantling my family's legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he's also troubled. Captivating. Audacious. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk . . . Wes and Maeve met in secret majority of the time but I adored when she came to the final game in his jersey to support him 💞💘. It basically showed everyone that they needed to mind their business and she was going to love him despite the rivalry in the town, which was so unserious really. Why is her father, a grown adult holding some vendetta over a teenage boy? Liam, I understand but her father was so dramatic but I’m glad that Wes talked to him at the end and called him out for not being at Maeve’s games 🥅 ⚽️. My girl deserved better, especially because she’s so talented. I loved her so much, and she’s extremely dedicated to the sport.

And aside from the romance, I also appreciated how it also centered around their own personal lives at home and at school. There was a healthy balance between all three storylines that successfully showed how each was vital to the other. Seeing Maeve gain the courage to stand up for herself and earn her father's respect and attention was a rewarding moment and for Wes to see that even under the veneer of his parents' unsatisfactory marriage, there were still the hints of love that tethered them together. If it was not for their own tryst, this little appreciations may have gone unwarranted for a lot longer - so, in a way, there was some good that came out of their secret liaison. 💞💞 A torn attraction. A torn love, rippled by the bare hands of their loved ones. Maeve and Wes meet and the attraction starts their, even though they know of the disappointment and anger they would face from their rivaling towns. She’s from the wrong side of the field, and he’s playing the wrong sport, the opposing sport of her own twin. Overall, I really enjoyed this book! While there were a few things I didn't love, those things didn't ruin the rest of the book for me. I liked the romance between Mauve and Weston and liked seeing them grow in the relationship. Wes and Maeve were beautiful, they truly defied my expectations and I loved every moment of it. It was ruthlessly amusing and breathtaking in the best way. I’ve heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. He’s popular. Conceited. Obnoxious. Most importantly, he’s spent the past three years steadily dismantling my family’s football legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he’s also troubled. Captivating. Considerate. When our paths cross again senior year, that knowledge becomes even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk. Hating him was easy. Before I met him.

Also, the fact that the twin-brother chastised the heroine and said she "could've let down his bestie easier" tells you all about the toxicity of this character. The fact that he gets his own love-story next bothers me. I love this book, but the ending???? It did not feel like the end. I was reading and thinking i still have a couple of chapters and then „The end“??? WHAT!!!Maybe im just sad that I finished. It was a fast read which makes me even sadder. This book is exactly what i love to read and i wish there would be more to it.This book will be at the top of my list and I will be re-reading it. Why were her friends so shitty when they found out about Wes… I understand they were concerned but it was unfair of them to make her feel like she wasn’t important to him. They automatically assumed he would play her when they didn’t know him at all… Maggie was at least nice about it but LIVED in the rival town, why was she not more supportive. Me ha gustado mucho a pesar de tener el típico drama de insti. La relación entre ellos ha sido muy bonita, como han confiado el uno en el otro y como han luchado por dejar atrás la rivalidad entre ambas ciudades.THIS BOOK SHATTERED EVERY PART OF ME. I loved it, it was filled with moments of fear of sadness, as a sufferer of daddy issues literally. I resonated with this book, she was overlooked so much, put second when she was just as amazing as her brother. And it hardened my heart that Wes was the only one supporting her, looking out for her. He showed her love, when her own father didn’t even show it. This was such a fun YA romance about two high school rivals that fall in love against all odds. I didn’t love the miscommunication/ third act break up, but then I had to remind myself that the MCs are in high school and what happened can be quite realistic. I also wished for some more development with the side characters! Still, I do recommend this and really enjoyed the book on audio! The chlorinated kind she swims in. The perennial droplets soaking her adopted hometown. The waves she ventures out on to observe the ocean. You love someone based on their dreams, their character, their hopes, how they make you feel. But I do believe you can spot potential at first sight. Because I had an inkling Weston Cole had the potential to implode my cautious, predictable world from that moment in the woods, long before I had any real reason to suspect he might.”
