The story was superbly written, so detailed and perfectly told in every way possible, the characters were an absolute delight to get to know, all of whom were excellently developed and just felt so very real. I truly felt for Sophie and Samuel, all that they had to go through and the obstacles that kept getting in their way. I really loved the ending though, but won't say anymore than that as I wouldn't want to accidentally give away any spoilers. Sophie's relationship with her stepsister Helen is wonderful. They're supportive of each other given what happened to their family when they were young. Samuel's family are also really cute and supportive and help him deal with the accident that happens to him in the book.

The characters are just wonderful. Sophie’s perhaps the more difficult to warm to at first, but as we get to know her better we see her softer and more vulnerable side, but also the steel at her core as she faces up to her challenges. This was a really enjoyable read, and another book that is perfect for reading wrapped up in a blanket with a cat, ignoring the horrible weather we’re having lately. It was another slow-paced read, but it was lovely and sweet and a great read. It took me a little while to get into the story but once I had I found it hard to put down. The chapters are called Sophie and Samuel and subtitled with the weeks since they met later on in the story.
